Was it this one? Yankee Lady? The one you posted looks like Sentimental Journey based in Phoenix, AZ

----You got it, Rick! Based at the same property that the Ford family gave to the Govt. and transformed it into Willow Run. Great Museum there too, and getting bigger soon. Got to sit in every seat but the pilots and the copilots. Hard to believe what our wonderful fliers went through during those trying times.....Bill S

Well worth the cost of the ride and a once in a lifetime chance in many cases.

The truck.

Depending on where it was built I might have put the fenders on it.

40 years with GM truck, in product design and vehicle assembly. Those "square bodies" were the ones I started out on.

All told I worked on 6 generations of GM full size trucks.

And one small car.

(...and one very big car).

Well said Rick!!

My oldest cousin was a ball turret gunner on a B-17G that went down over Kiel Germany, May 23, 1944. He is buried in Belgium.

I got a ride in Aluminum Overcast a while back and also got time in every position except the pilot's. I have so much respect for the brave men who carried out these missions and the men and women who sacrificed for the freedoms we enjoy!!:flag: :worship:

Thank you to all who post up pix of these beautiful war birds, and to those who strive to keep them flying!!! :flag:

And those of us who have been lucky enough to have ridden in one of these warbirds and even those that have not need to remember, flying them around at 5000 feet a minimal speed is a FAR cry from those guys that were flying them at 35,000 ft where it was likely -30* below zero and at 250 mph. Between the noise, the cold and being shot at I cannot think of too many things I would like to be doing less!

London-based BP, formerly known as British Petroleum, is one of the companies behind the Deepwater Horizon oil rig explosion in the Gulf of Mexico, that killed 11 people and leaked 4 million barrels of oil into the ocean over an 87-day period. In addition to being culpable for the largest oil spill in marine drilling history, BP has committed over 100 environmental violations in the last 20 years, for which it has paid nearly $30 billion in penalties.

I was looking at the eBay section and this truck that Tony posted. When I saw the drivetrain setup I asked myself . . . "Lee, could you drive that truck?" My honest answer is . . . no. I've owned and driven plenty of manual trans cars and trucks over the years, but the shifter has always been on the floor, never on the column. I have never drive a vehicle with "three on the tree."

Hey Lee
"Three on the Tree" are fun to drive-I owned a 1970 chevelle in 1985 with this set up-like anything else you get use to it-Stay Safe everyone!
Keep on Cruising!

I enjoy driving 3 on the tree, and 4 on the floor (or 5 on the floor). I don't get the opportunity to drive 3 on the tree very often anymore. The last one I drove was a '40 Chevy.

Column shift is easy, requires no training for you !

And that's where you're wrong Mike. I get into that seat and sure as s&*t I will put the key in the ignition and try to start it in gear because it will look like an automatic to me (if the shift lever is on the column, it's an automatic!) and the truck will lurch forward! I don't even know if 1st gear is up or down.

I'm an old dog who can't be taught new tricks.

It is the same H pattern as on the floor, just a bit sideways. My first car was three speed on th column.

The only column mounted shift car i own now is the Vanden Plas Princess, a very cool British limo. Right hand drive so I have to shift left handed. But it is not three on the tree.... it is four speed column shifted. Took about 2 minutes to master.

It has some serious leg room in the back seat, expecially with the jumper seats up.

While you’re in Florida visiting the best beaches in America, take a detour to Key West, home of the Planet Ocean Underwater Hotel. Located 30 feet below the surface, the hotel’s 12 bedrooms are accessible via a glass elevator and provide a panoramic view of aquatic life. A marine biologist will accompany guests to explain the marine life around them. But here’s the catch: Only 90 groups (with 12 couples each) will be able to stay at the Key West location once it officially opens. After that, the hotel will travel to other locations—Okinawa, Japan, Singapore, and Thailand are listed on the hotel’s website—to bring the experience to other citizens of the world. Better make your reservation fast for this underwater hotel.
