Thanks Sam, The Lamar Waldon decal explains a little about how he ran so good. Carter 750s, not the stock 600s. Lot's of changes from "stock". In case others haven't clicked on Sam's link, you should.....there are a LOT of other drag pics there! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/cool.gif [/ QUOTE ] Seattle Sam always takes cool pics...here are a few more...Belair wanted them... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...n_DSCF1681.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...n_DSCF1680.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...n_DSCF1679.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...n_DSCF1678.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...n_DSCF1677.jpg |

Two of the Funniest, most generous guys you will ever find. Thats John Platania (SSL78) on the left & Darren Costello (DarrenX33) next to him. John couldn't get the car off idle and Darren was quick on the spot to lend a helping hand.He was soon on his way. These two guys are a wealth of knowledge & experience, who are only surpassed by their kindness. I owe them much & enjoy their company & sharing Giggles.. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...scr8x20001.jpg [/ QUOTE ]I second that Rick. John and Darren are tops! Glad I had a chance to spend some time with them. I would like to see them at York next year with the rest of you guys.https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif |

Re: SCR8 Drag Racing Shots (and a bit more)
I wasn't going to comment on that.................... I was being a good boy. I guess I'm just a little biased since I have the original M/Ts those were copied from. Yes, I like the "style", but I prefer the old school look of a chrome rim and aluminum spokes. It started in '65, so it's a contender for a "Day-2" '62 or '63. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif
Hey Belair, did you notice the 348 valve covers? (no drippers) Verne |
Re: SCR8 Drag Racing Shots (and a bit more)
Nope..I was too busy looking at the 61 348 horse behind it....I have a set of M/T's too...NOS..Radirs are still cool...they look awsum on big cars..

Re: SCR8 Drag Racing Shots (and a bit more)
Super pics from one and all....many thanks to each of you for your efforts! Special thanks to Jeff Murphy for allowing me to go side-by-side with him. In his words, we were running the risk of taking out a large percentage of COPO cars in a single pass! Mr Cumby, it was great to run beside you. Thank you for the chance and the encouragement. Big thanks to J. D. too for the great pic and the mention that at one time both cars were sharing space in Dennis' garage. I am sure he was watching and giving us the thumbs up. (right after he smacked me in the back of the head for risking damage to his car that way) Oh well, that is what he gets for leaving me in charge. Red lights included, I had a fantastic day.
Once again, thanks to all for your patience, assistance, pictures and a great weekend! I have to ask one more time....Is it next year yet?!!!??!!?? |

Of the three passes I made Friday, I was beaten TWICE by GIRLS!!!!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/blush.gif Maggie Pelts gave me a HARD lesson in racing on my first pass; one I barely had a chance to see... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/burnout.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif And Annie thumped me the second time (with her -.291 light! ). RETALIATION! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif But the best part was what no one else saw; the greeting at the end of the track. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/wink.gif I'll say no more....... you just had to be there. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif We love you Annie. Re: SCR8 Drag Racing Shots (and a bit more)
Also I just want to say Maggie and I had a great time, she loves 69 Camaro's and I think she got her fill this weekend.
This was her first year to come with me and I told her there would be some very cool cars and as always you guys lived up to my expectations. It really embodies what the car hobby is all about when you can see different types of cars at a specialty car event. Thank you all again for allowing us to be there with our Mopars and if you will have us we will be back for SCR 9, Let's do it next week.... a year is to long to wait!!!! |

She ran an 11.55 @115.56 against me! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif I ran a 10.021 on that pass............. Re: SCR8 Drag Racing Shots (and a bit more)
She is a good kid, but she is real hyper and talks to fast for me. either that or I just listen to slow... The tattoo was a surprise about 7 years ago. She whipped me both times we lined up at the reunion, the deal was she had to win by more than a second counting reaction times. her best 11.55 beat my best 12.58, although I did run 12.30 at monster mopar this past weekend but she went 11.51 there in the heat.

Larry,
What number was your car? I was great to see some quick "B" bodies running . |
