Found this Emblem on a now burgandy 67 SS 396 Chevelle that the guy just bought for $2K. Car came with all orginal Drivetrain and sat under a mango tree for something like 16 years. At least the guy had a tarp over the car. Seller was the org owner of the car.

When you buy a car from Boyd Mullen, it's a Boyd Mullen's car for life------

Re: Dealer Emblems
I used to remove then all the time when I ran Super Cars used cars back in early 70's, and many were on with rivets so that you could not take them off easy. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/scholar.gif

Re: Dealer Emblems
I ordered/bought a new '90 Mustang LX and specifically requested that no dealer emblem was to be installed during dealer prep. They wrote a work order for several additional dealer items (floor mats, etc.) and noted my request on the form. The day the car arrived (several weeks later) the dealer prep guys drilled holes and mounted the dealer emblem on the back hatch with sheet metal screws--and they weren't even stainless screws. (Cheap bast**ds.) I was so f-ing mad that I refused to take delivery of the car. The sales manager leaned on me and I produced the work order that stated "Do not install dealer emblem on car." After two days of back-and-forth I finally hired a lawyer and the dealer backed down immediately. Initially I had demanded my money back but the dealer really wanted my money so they ordered another car and threw in some free stuff. Six weeks later I had the second car, five free oil changes, and free floor mats.
Don't get me started on dealer emblems... (Unless they say "By Berger" and are mounted on a 427 conversion car. Then they're solid gold.) |
Re: Dealer Emblems
I have seen them put on with just about everything you could think of. I stil have a small box of the ones that I took off around somewhere. Of course they are all local Okla dealers and not any of the sought after ones. (Darnit) https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/confused.gif

Re: Dealer Emblems
Can you get me the dimensions of the Albert Peter Dealership decal. I need one for my car. Or maybe get me a pic of just that decal?
|
Re: Dealer Emblems
The Albert Peter decal itself is 6.5" by 1.5". The backing is slightly larger in length. Choose the 'original' size option on the picture to get a high resolution image.

Re: Dealer Emblems
Wow, THANKS!
Did you happen to work there back in May of 1969? If so, perhaps you saw this car on the lot? http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/g...unocofront.jpg |
Re: Dealer Emblems
I did not work there back then, but the salesman for your car would have been Mel Perry or Roger Booth. The old service manager Dave Kenahan is still around. He worked in the high performance department and with the race team so did Tony Padula, Tommy Ditmare, Nickey Manilla, Joe Vanny and Dick Pinto. Back in 91 or 92 Jack the lot guy put all the old paper work in the dumpster. They had a Z11 Impala a few funny cars and some super stocks. Where was that picture taken
|
Re: Dealer Emblems
Thanks for all the info... although I'm sorry to hear about the dumpster incident. Where would this hobby be without helpful guys like you! Any idea how where or how I can get ahold of Dave Kenahan or the others? Please send me a PM if you can tell me anything further.
I understand the photo was taken in Littleton, MA around 1984. |
Re: Dealer Emblems
