That's cool stuff there.I've got my oldest grandson, same age as Ben I think, welding floors, and qtrs on now. We need these guys to keep the hobby/business alive.

Still at it..... Once we get the welding / grinding work done we can install the gas tank and transition our efforts to firing it up! Ben likes the plasma cutter, although we moved to a cut off wheel on a grinder for precision. We are saving the original quarters, so made some strategic cuts on the tail light panel!

are those aluminum rear brake drums?
|
Yea! They are from a '78 Malibu, had them laying around so we slid them on. I broke the original drums to pieces hammering them off the rear - a lot of cursing & swearing as well!

Yea, it's taking a long time, but sure is cool!

Just read the whole story!! Very cool and I love that you did it with your sons!! Congrats on a job well done (so far). I bet you can hardly wait to finish her up!!

That thing is going to be a killer Day Two ride.

I think it's going to ride like a brick!!! But, Ben will def maintain his 'coolest car in High School' reputation - his black '01 Trans Am, WS6 with Ram Air is cool, but a TR'd '69 Nova with ladders is unheard of these days!!!

The Nova is looking good , What colors of black did you use on the firewall & subframe? PPG or ?
Thanks |
Did the guy from Sun Motor Cars have any luck researching the car?

Never heard from the guy at Sun Motors again, not surprising since I can't imagine the old chevy records from Sunderland are stashed 20 miles away at the Sun Benz/Porsche dealership.... |

Progress.... It's in the booth, should be rally green in a week or two.
We've been working on vinyl top moldings and just finished the body side moldings last night. Moving on to refinishing the original rear SS panel, original grill and headlight frames.... |

That’s one of my favorite color combinations on a 69 nova. I’ve seen several rally green novas and they have all been 396 cars.i don’t recall ever seeing a sb rally green nova
