Seems a little slow on this thread so I'll throw one on that's not seen every day. I parted with this car around 10 plus years ago. The restoration efforts were performed during my ownership. I believe this '70 Chevelle LS5 convertible to be one of the earliest produced with a Van Nuys build date of 12/17/69. It came with the original build sheet.....buckets and M22 equipped. I followed these particular convertible models equipped with the LS-5 for probably a dozen years through ads, etc. and found none that were fully documented with a production date earlier than this. They could be out there but I never found one with docs. I was told at one point that one of the very earliest LS-6 versions was produced one day earlier at Van Nuys as well. Don't know if that is true or not. Both the noted LS-6 one and mine were shipped to Denver but to different dealerships. I don't have the full history of our car but know it spent considerable time in CO & OK. The car still needed a very few small finishing items when I sold it. Very solid, rust free, and original for the most part. I would term it a high driver level after restoration.......too nice to drive eventually for my comfort level anyway.

Today is the birthday of my 1969 L71 Corvette.
Dec. 16, 1969 It’s a very late build, Tuxedo black car. Apparently it was originally a Sidepipe car according to all the previous owners. Not sure why the guy I got it from removed them. The black and white pic is from the second owner. |

This 1967 Corvette was born on this day, January 5th, 1967. Selling dealer Tank Chevrolet, Ray ND. I have owned it since 1977.
427/390, wide ratio M20, 3.08 posi, no radio, 48,000 miles. Marina Blue, Bright Blue, still retains its original Teal Blue soft top. NCRS 5 Star Bowtie, multiple 97 plus Top Flights. MCACN Triple Diamond and Vintage Certification Legend. BG Survivor Gold. |
Very nice 67 Vette, thanks for sharing this with us.
|
Tuna Joe, that '69 Vette is killer. I had a buddy in HS whose sister had a chrome bumper C3 and I loved that car; I've always loved the C3 in general, but the chrome bumpers are my favorite like most people. Can't wait to see that completed.
And to me, C3's have been criminally undervalued for so many years now. And of course, that '67 is stunning as well. |

I'm a couple of days behind in showing off a new acquisition. This is a January 10th built L72 coupe. Nassau Blue on blue / white interior, factory pipe car that retains is born with drivetrain, original paint, most all original interior, POP, dealer invoice, and dealer order sheet. A sharp eye will detect there are 2 options on the car that are not original to it (I'll get that straightened out). This will be a fun car to run through the shop.

I zoomed in and thought they were white stripes also Mitch, although gold would be cool!
Tim scores again!!:headbang: |
----Teak wheel is only an OK repro. The windshield washer fluid container is wrong. Goldlines aren't on the invoice but if good condition I'd leave them. PCV hose isn't the preformed one, and the clamp for it on the left side intake bolt is missing. That's all I can see. Just a real nice original 66. Good find!.....Bill S
|
So gold lines would be okay for the car if the were ordered?
