I will post this picture here, still trying to figure out this cut out in the firewall. It is under the wiper motor.

This is a picture of a 1970 Chevelle firewall with a similar hole showing it’s for cruise control….I assume it’s for Camaro too…..?

chevyandpontiac 03-18-2024 12:47 PM

Thanks Kurt, this is cool but I really want to know what is correct for the 1969 Camaro.

I didn't think it would be this hard to find out what this cut out is for.

MarcDant 03-18-2024 03:21 PM

cut out

The cut out was used for 6 cylinder throttle cable i belieive, heres a pic off the net.

NorCam 03-18-2024 11:34 PM

Marc's picture is correct. I believe Crossram cars used the same pedal assembly and cable assembly between the carbs as well.

markinnaples 03-19-2024 06:48 PM

Camaro is coming along great, and that wild paint on the Bug in the background looks awesome!

Decided to change to the Ansen ground grabbers today. I like the DD but these seem more stream line.

markinnaples 05-03-2024 01:46 PM

Wow, I gotta ask about the header/sidepipes, what brand and where did you get those?
They look amazing.

chevyandpontiac 05-04-2024 12:07 PM

They are Hooker, NOS from the 1970's. They were in a garage in the Detroit area.

NorCam 05-05-2024 11:37 PM

Man o man...

If that car wasn't going to be bad enough with all that vintage jewellery on it, the bar just got raised to a whole other level. Loving it Dan!!!

HELP!!! I just got my new grill and headlight bezels, the grill is black with a chrome trim.
The question is do I paint the outside of the chrome body color and also do I paint the bezels body color? I have seen so many different ways of doing this.
Thanks in advance Dan

This is how it looks.

R68GTO 05-24-2024 10:46 PM

grill surround should be body color. Headlight bezels should be argent. Grill grate should be black for SS, argent for others (generally).

Standard headlamp bezels should match the grille.

x44d80 05-25-2024 12:07 AM

I offended wondered what happened to the car OJs leaning on.

William 05-25-2024 02:17 AM

Facts of the matter suggest the car was no more than a convenient prop for the photos. OJ probably had no involvement with it other than the photos.

The car has the 1st design D90 stripe meaning it was built no later than the second week of November, 1968. The California XRK 691 tag was issued in 1968 and indicates the car was privately owned. Cars that were in Chevrolet company use had MFG 015 tags.

John De Lorean was the General Manager of Pontiac until being named Chevrolet General Manager February 1, 1969. That means the photos were taken some time after that, possibly March-April 1969.

Where is the OJ Camaro today? Probably lost in time.

I'm kinda thinking you should sell me that Monte Carlo SS Dan? :Can-I-Have-It:

chevyandpontiac 08-09-2024 12:32 PM

If you every make it down to the Chicagoland area I would love to show you all the cars and parts!! I know it is too far for a trip but if you ever make it down here you are always welcome! I bought the 1985 Monte from a member right here. Sold new in Union Grove WI never restored, I bought it with 20,000 miles on the clock. Still has mostly original hoses.

NorCam 08-10-2024 02:18 PM

I may try and take you up on that soon Dan. :-)

Working on a run to PA and that would have me running through day2land. I'll call you should this road trip get done.

Here's what I've been building myself. :naughty:

I really want one of those hoods for my car, but I want one that bolts to the hinges. i want to put one of my tunnel rams on mine, but I need a hood like that to go on it.

day2killa 08-11-2024 03:35 PM

definitely put the hood on, a touch of lace and flake and a name on the side of it to add that 1980s feel

markinnaples 08-14-2024 02:48 PM

Everything about that '69 is killer, including the hood.
What's the deal on the second gen next to it?

69Z11Pacer396 08-14-2024 04:23 PM

There is that exact hood(Motion STage 3) on Facebook Marketplace in MA for sale for $500.. (not mine). Saw it earlier though.. Search "Vintage fiberglass hood Camaro"
