I'm putting the 5.29s in the rear end today and going to Beech Bend tonight to see how this thing runs, as long as the weather stays nice. This is the first time this year that I've had a chance to take the car to the track. The transmission is finally working right. I hope everything stays together!

Looks like Freddie is the "home town" favorite now!

Go Freddie GO!!!! Looking forward to seeing that machine in a few weeks!

SCR is one week from Friday.
If anybody is coming through Columbus, I need a ride. My ride has to leave early, and I don't want to ride in my car on the trailer. Please let me know if I be a passenger. Thanks, Andy ps this pandemic thing sucks, I know people who have died from it. Let's keep the politics out of the site, please. We are all at risk, like it or not. just my 2$ |
Just over a week away. Do we have a list of attendees? Any previews of the t shirt?
|
Praying for your wife's fast recovery!
|
Last minute entry here. Is there a way to electronically register in the interest of saving some time?

Thank You Tom! We all had tremendous respect for Jim and we're proud to say that Jim's son Keith and his family will be joining us in Bowling Green next week with their Rallye Green sYc Camaro. Here's a teaser of the window decal honoring the Shockley family that will be available to those who participate on Race Day at Beech Bend. |

I've been trying to get some local cars to show up, but I don't know if any of them will be there. A few 427 Vettes, some Boss 302 cars, 428 CJ, Hemi Super Bee, '66 SS Chevelle and some others, but nobody will commit.

UPDATE !
And it's Good News. Some of you may have heard that the Kentucky Governor tightened COVID restrictions lately. As of 5 PM today we received word that SCR 23 is considered a "Professional Event" and therefore exempt from the 'crowds of 10 or less' guideline. (And you all thought we were just a bunch of amateurs and hillbillies, didn't you!) WE'RE STILL MOVING FORWARD! With that good news comes some strong recommendations. We are asking everyone to PLEASE bring masks and be prepared to wear them. And, if possible, bring multiples in case you misplace one, or maybe some to share with friends. Regardless of how you feel about the entire COVID 19 situation, social distancing, etc is just common sense and good old-fasioned respectful behavior. So PLEASE, Stay Safe, Stay Healthy and we look forward to seeing everyone this weekend in Beautiful Bowling Green! |

I know Chuck will be riding Shoot Gun with you the entire way down...RIP my Friend. PS....Don`t overfill that Gas Tank... Wink, Wink :) Have fun and Be Safe! Dan |
The Hot Rod Reunion is probably the biggest event that Beech Bend has each year. It had been rescheduled for Aug 20-22. It was canceled today. I'm glad that we are still on.
|
And if you don’t have a mask, make sure to buy an Official Yenko.Net/MCACN calendar at the show which can do double duty as a face shield!:eek2: Yes, you won’t be able to see anything and nobody will recognize you,, but you vill be in compliance!:hmmm:
Looking forward to meeting a lot of you in person! Cheers:beers: Dave |
Well, unexpected parental obligations crept up today impacting tomorrow’s events, so it looks like we have to skip the show. Parental obligations meaning I have to take care of my parents, but fear not! Luckily with this devastating news Doug has STILL decided that the show must go on!:3gears::rolleyes:
Have fun everyone! Post up pics!!!!:3gears::3gears::3gears: Cheers:beers: Dave |
That's very disappointing news. I hope everything is all right. I know all of us were looking forward to seeing you there.
|
Dave, I hope your parents are alright.. Your a good man!! I know the feeling, I take care of my elderly mother...
Rich |
Smart decision Dave. Family is always First :)
Even with my broken leg :( I am driving my Mother in Law to the Hospital on Friday. Doing the right thing is the only thing that matters. Dan |

Is there a backup plan for the bar-b-q if it's raining?

It looks like the weather forecast is getting better. Maybe the rain is gone for a while.
|
My phone weather channel app is showing sunny and maybe a stray shower or thunderstorm tomorrow.
What time will the track open/when will drag racing be going on etc..? I've never been but have wanted to go for the past 2 or 3 yrs. This will be my first time. |
I believe the gate opens at 8 and runs start at 9 am.
|
So my younger daughter was attending a safe driving school at the Corvette museum on Saturday, and we decided to come down the day before to tour the museum. Imagine my complete delight when I stumbled onto this! I was like a kid in a candy store. My only regret is that I missed the racing because frankly, I had no idea this was going on this weekend. I thought I would share a few pictures I snapped. Unfortunately, I don't see an icon allowing me to upload them.
|
The weather was pretty good for race day. It was very hot and the air was not good for ETs, but it didn't rain until we were finished and back at the museum. There were a few cars that broke stuff, but no crashes this year, and everything that was damaged can be fixed easily. I'm sure that many pictures will be posted later. My GoPro decided that it was just too hot to work, so I didn't get any in car video of me missing 3rd gear this year.
There were several regulars that didn't make it this year. We missed Ken Barnhart, Dennis Crumby, Bob McClurg, the whole MASCAR team and several others. Covid 19 kept some of them from making it. I hope to see them next year. |
