There WILL be photo coverage available. (Hint, Hint ) |
Looking forward to, again having fun with you guys. We are thrashing hard at Mascar, hoping to show up with something as strong as our old yellow Deuce. Although I'm having a hard time making power with a old AMC engine compared to a small block chevy!!
|
Kenny the magician will figure something out !!
|
I finally got my new pistons and rods. If I can get my block and crank back this week I can start putting this thing back together. Time is slipping by quickly and I'm getting a little worried. I'll be there with or without my Camaro, but it sure will be a lot more fun with it.
|
Keep thrashing and hopefully the parts arrive

Got my crank Tuesday and my block yesterday. Starting assembly tomorrow. Ordered drive shaft today.
I met Bill Porterfield today. He had 2 of the Dick Harrell funny cars at the Hot Rod Reunion at Beech Bend today. I thought it would be pretty cool if he brought at least one of them to the Super Car Reunion. |
I would love to see one of those take easy pass down the track.
|
I am happy to announce for this years SCR20 Reunion that Dennis Gage of the TV show ...My Classic Car will be in attendance and he will be filming a show while at our event ...he usually features approx 3 cars for his show while doing an overview of the entire event. He has been to our Reunions in previous years ...and I think possibly the very first one .
Welcome aboard Dennis...enjoy fellas !! |
I have to start growing my mustache today :D
Very cool....it will be great to see Dennis again. Dan |
Yes, the SCR has been featured on MCC a couple of times. Usually they only film during track day, as Dennis and his staff love the fact that they get to film the cars doing what they were built to do (race).
|
It's a win/win for the entire show
|
This is great! This show gets better every year.
|
Very cool! Great for the event and staff!!
|
I'd like for the organizers to give me their opinion on something before I open my mouth and get in trouble. I know that this is a private event, but I can't help telling friends about it. I need to know how open this event is to spectators and publications. Last year I found out about this event by accident because Beech Bend put it on their schedule.
The week before SCR 20 the Car Craft Summer Nationals will be at Beech Bend. I plan to have my Camaro at that event too. I didn't know if you guys would be interested in having a writer from Car Craft stay another week and do a story on the SCR or if you want to keep it somewhat of a secret. Also, where do you stand on having spectators at the event, and who is allowed to bring a car and take part in this? |
The event is free to all spectators on Friday at the race track as well as the car show on Saturday. Our official writer/photographer is Bob McClurg a well known and seasoned veteran for many publications . Any one with a cool old hot rod is welcome ...we do not prefer new all out race cars. To race only at the event ..the cost is $50 per car .....for any questions or help please call Doug 614-203-1272 OR Jaimie 870-680-0299

This year's show is shaping up to be one of the best ever! When I spoke to Dennis he said he was at the what he thought was the very first one. Very fitting he will be with us to celebrate the 20th. We would love to have more spectators at the track and the museum.
This event is all about the people! Jamie |
More spectators would be great. Having Dennis there is a good addition.
|
Sounds like a great addition to the show!! Of course, we are all characters, so Dennis Gage will have his hands full for finding the features!!!

For the past several years, during the SCR, it has been our pleasure to honor someone who helped shape our hobby into what it is today.
For 2017, and SCR20, we felt it only fitting to honor Mr. Ray Morrison. |
Dennis is a real nice guy, He did a feature on by Boss 351 years back.

Ray Morrison is nothing short of a legend in our hobby. Not only for his car, the history and all the drag racing stories he can tell. But you will not meet a finer gentleman.
Great choice! Jamie |

Way to go Ray !!! Well done Tom.

Ray is indeed a great choice. To me, he and his car, are what this hobby is about. A great spokesman for both Gibb, and Harrell.
|
Hope nobody lets him drive one of their supercars!

Ed.....is a great person....and friend. I wealth of knowledge. This is great news.

How do I confirm 2 spots for the Banquet? I thought I sent an email but don't recall a response.

This is going to be a blast.....I'm really excited to return to SCR20. Great job to everyone involved in getting this show together. :beers:
I've made a couple changes to the car but nothing drastic......I'm not sure if anything will change but either way I plan to participate in the COPO Pete Shootout again. Hopefully we can get two 4-speeds in the final again. :3gears: Kurt  |
