Re: Supercar Photographs
#57. This Baldwin Motion Phase III Camaro is probably one of the most well known BM cars out there. The first time I read about it was in the August 1985 issue of Muscle Car Review. It's an unrestored car with around 6K miles. It was also featured in the April 1991 issue of Motor Trend when it was a part of the Otis Chandler collection. It is a really cool car and this was the first time I saw it in person.

Re: Supercar Photographs
One of my goals in life is to see that car in person. Next time I'm through Idaho... hello? Mr. Lynch?

Re: Supercar Photographs
#58. This is a Cordia Fast Track Nova. It is unrestored with around 1K miles on it. If I remember correctly the dealer installed an L88 in it and then an LS6. It is a TH400 car with a bench seat. It was featured in the August 2011 issue of Muscle Car Review.

Re: Supercar Photographs
I have fond memories of this Nova from the last SCR at Gateway before it closed. It made one pass, with me driving in the other lane. I was so stoked about coming from behind and beating it. You can imagine my disappointment when I found out that BHK was coasting past the finish line due to a catastrophic mechanical failure. He did things to that tranny that I still can't speak about in mixed company. Let's just say that too much torque had something to do with it. Re: Supercar Photographs
Someone needs to post the pictures of that damage. I could not believe how bad it was and he kept it under control and did not damage the rest of the car. I have seen some bad transmission breakages and this ranked right up there.

Re: Supercar Photographs
I for one would love to view the damage.

Have seen some of these cats using solid motor/trans mounts and not aligned -- the result is as pictured above.

Re: Supercar Photographs
#60. This Camaro was sold new at Gates Chevrolet in Mishawaka IN. It is an 02D 4 speed car and is numbers matching. It was in the 2014 Hemmings Muscle Machines Calendar and it was featured in the March 2013 issue of HMM. Coincidentally, I ran into one of the prior owners of this car at a car show this summer. He used to street race it in the Chicago area and didn't even now it was a Yenko until years later when someone contacted him asking questions about it. This Camaro was restored by Chuck Huber.

#61. This Yenko is an 01B car that was sold new at Francis Chevrolet in Bridgeton MO. It is a mostly original, numbers matching car with less than 20K miles. It has been featured in the June 1992 issue of Muscle Car Review and the June 1989 issue of Super Chevy.

Re: Supercar Photographs
#62. This COPO Camaro was sold new through Holland Motors in Burlington ON and is an M22 car. I believe it has the original trans and rear end, but not the original engine. It is a 37K mile car and is GM of Canada Documented.

Re: Supercar Photographs
#63. This Chevelle is a double COPO car that was sold new at Bob McDorman in Columbus OH. It is a bench seat, 4 speed car and it is numbers matching. I believe it is also documented with it's original POP. It was featured in the November 2010 issue of Muscle Car Review.

Does she have a twin Camaro?
Maybe next car to display In your thread? Ryan |
Re: Supercar Photographs
Brad and Jared Hausfeld's Cortez Silver COPO were part of my 2010 - 1969 Chevelle Display - great car people and one Great COPO.
Parked next to Scott Libersher`s Daytona Yellow COPO Dan |
Re: Supercar Photographs
That silver COPO Chevelle has got to be one of the greatest sleepers ever.
From the outside, you'd think it was a 307 (other than the normal 307 emblems)...awesome. |
Re: Supercar Photographs
#64. This COPO Chevelle was sold new at The Westminster Motor Company in Westminster MD. It is a numbers matching automatic car with a console. It is documented with a build sheet and POP. It was restored by George Lyons about 10 years ago and was the December 2005 Super Car Feature on this site. This is the only COPO Chevelle with Malibu trim that I have ever seen. I've heard that there are a couple more out there but I don't know what condition they're in. Sorry about the signs in front of the car. I walked past the car several times but never saw the owner around.

Re: Supercar Photographs
Think I saw this one at Legendary Motor Car here in Milton.
By memory, survivor to some degree? Ryan |
Re: Supercar Photographs
It was at Legendary Motor Car, but I believe it is a total restoration. I think Doug Perry was the one who found it and restored it so maybe he can chime in on that.
|
Re: Supercar Photographs
Yes, Doug.

Re: Supercar Photographs
The Black Copo Camaro was restored here in Columbus ...by Dave McGaffee of Bowtie Performance. It was judged as a Legends car at the Camaro Nationals and scored 4,960/5,000 pts. Being a Legends car puts it on a short list of cool cars. The car had its original Rearend only. The motor was a real MN block 1,200 vins away. We have one more car coming ...RS Lemans Blue Copo Camaro for Legends judging...but in the end I prefer my Rally Green Copo hot rod
|
Re: Supercar Photographs
I remembered "LEGEND" on the advetisement and assumed it was Vintage Certification/Survivor vintage Legend.
"We understand not every original car is 100% untouched, and we offer four levels of certification, based on the originality of the Vehicle. Vintage Legend Certifications levels are divided into four divisions: Vintage Legend - Cars that are 80%-90% unrestored in all reference areas." Wrong again. Ryan |

I think fondly about this car as Doug sold me (for a very reasonable price) the complete exhaust system that was on the car when he bought it. Vintage Hooker's, 3" pipes and Dynomax cans. It was a real comedy of errors. I had everything all planned out, and nothing went according to plan. By the time I got done, I could have bought a brand new system and had it installed for the same money. Live and learn. |
Re: Supercar Photographs
Andy I forgot how sexy that car looked. Straight as an arrow. They only look that good once...when they are fresh. All the COPOS that we have had bring back good memories ..I think Dave went 2 1/2 days without sleep

#67. This 67 Yenko Camaro is YS-739. It was sold new at Burt Chevrolet in Inglewood CO. It has just over 15K miles on it and was restored my Mike Slaughter a few years ago. It was featured in the April 2010 issue of Muscle Car Enthusiast.

Re: Supercar Photographs
#68. This is the Dana Camaro from Hawaii that was restored by the Supercar Workshop. I believe that it had a 350 with an automatic and air when new and was converted by Dana in April of 1969 to a 427 with a 4 speed. It has less than 2K miles on it and was featured in the October 2010 issue of Muscle Car Review.

Re: Supercar Photographs
Remember, this was a DANA conversion from a 350 AC car........
BIG |
Re: Supercar Photographs
The car had a lot of odd mix and match items. Remember this was a 350 air automatic car. Another thing we seem to forget that these were just cars being built by kids and young men, not not unlike the owners themselves...BKH

Re: Supercar Photographs
If I remember correctly, the tranny tunnel was a little choppy from the 4 speed conversion. And the original set of Doug's headers didn't survive. Still cool in my book.

Re: Supercar Photographs
#69. This is another Douglass Yenko Camaro. It is one body number off the Douglass Yenko I posted earlier. This one was restored by the Supercar Workshop and was featured in the August 2008 issue of Muscle Car Review. It was also in Bob McClug's Yenko book and featured in and on the cover of Top Muscle. It currently is a part of the Brothers Collection and has the Yenko stripes applied to it.
