Re: What was your first car????
I was flipping cars by the age of 18 so I couldn't pass on this 67 Caddy Vert for $500.00 ! Everyone made fun of me until they saw me turn the rear tire into a gob of melted rubber with a spark throwing steel belt. I think that alcohol may have been involved. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/headbang.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/burnout.gif
Pulled over on a snowy New Years Eve , the officer told the rear passengers to "get off the balcony". The car could hold 9 0r 10 with the top down. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif http://photos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-...27786_5491.jpg [/ QUOTE ] Nothing wrong with that IMO! Re: What was your first car????
My first car (65 Mustang 2+2)after it had morphed several times. Picture was taken in front of my girlfriends house (now wife) in 77 or 78. I bought it in 1970 while a junior in high school.
Originally a 289 with 3 speed, but was a Boss 302 with toploader and a 9" out of a Boss 429 car running 5.13 gears. The rear end was bought at Jim's World of Speed after I saw it on the floor for sale. World of Speed sticker on the vent window. http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e4...ng22in1978.jpg |
Re: What was your first car????
1975, 16 years old working at the car wash when a Cortez Silver 1969 Z/28 drives by with for sale signs in the windows. Jumped on my bike, chased it to the next intersection, got the phone # and bought it the next weekend for $1600. I had been working the car wash for 2 years prior to this to save the money for when the right car came along. I have some pictures somewhere that I should scan.

Re: What was your first car????
When I was 14, my dad helped me purchase a 1971 Plymouth Satellite Sebring Plus with a simple 318. By the time I was old enough to drive it, I saved up enough cash to get a cheap paint job, Roadrunner hood and some stickers to make it look like a Roadrunner. Unfortunately, over the years, I was away and it took a bad beating from the elements but I still have it. I just recently towed it into my garage and will hopefully start working on it soon.
This is the only pic I have uploaded at the moment. The Challenger was my dad's which my mom gave to me when he passed away 8 years ago and the rest are of my Satellite. It was a Tawny Brown when I got it and I wanted a subtle color at the time. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with either car at the moment. It just takes time and money and, unfortunately, I usually only have one or the other. http://www.gravel-road-designs.com/i...indsmopars.jpg |

Re: What was your first car????
Mine was a Lemans Blue/black bench 69 Chevelle 350/300 4spd M20 with a 373 in back. I pegged the speedo and tossed several rods onto I-90 near Rockford 6 weeks after getting it in the spring of '73 and then put a new CE block in it. Wish I still had it!

Re: What was your first car????
First one was a white 70 Camaro with houndstooth, column shift, tilt wheel and more rust than paint. I bought it with paper route money when I was 14. It never saw the road and I sent it to the boneyard after pressure from my dad and step mom back in about 1990.
My first driver was a dark green metallic 1970 LeMans Sport with the Pontiac 350 2bbl, m21 4 speed and 3.23 limited slip. |
Re: What was your first car????
1979 Trans Am was my first new car. No A/C no power windows, no radio no T tops and no bird on the hood. Pontiac 400 with a SUper T-10 . Only real option on the car was the WS6 package.... I would love to have this car back

Re: What was your first car????
69 Olds Delta 88 2 dr coupe, 455 auto when I was 13 going on 14. My dad bought it new and I got it around 1978. Put quite a few miles on it before I turned 16...
Loved that insta-spin rear end...Could not afford to do that too often. Had 9 or 10 Oldsmobiles since and mostly Chevys besides. Would love to have my original 70-W30 back... |
Re: What was your first car????
I love the $0.10 charge for the spare tire!

Re: What was your first car????
My first was a 1989 Turbo Trans Am we bought at my great uncles Pontiac dealer. My dad planned on keeping it for himself and getting me a GTA that looked just like it. Well, a divorce insued and the biatch tried to take the turbo. I ended up with it so she wouldn't get it. Never and I repeat Never give a 15 year old a car that fast. I street raced that car to no end and traded it with about 80,000 miles worn slam out. Bone stock ran 8.6 in the 1/8 mile @ 96mph wheel hopping the entire track with idle launch. Would love to have it back.
