Kind of reminds me a lot of Benny's car.

Under coating even reached the booster. My 69 camaro has a lot as well, they even hit the washer bottle and smog pump on my car.

Yes it does remind me of Benny's...

What is that peaking out from between the gas tank and the tank mat? Will Charley drop the tank or not? Will he check under the back seat? So many questions and so few answers https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Hey that is the 2nd or third survivor rad tag I have seen that has had white paint on the letter code... I see that they must have used a pad stamp as you can see where the corner of the stamp hit on the left top. Had to have been to highlight the code for easier ID on the line.

Re: really cool 70 Z28..simply the best.

I see the same highlighting of white paint on my PA radiator tag. Like mine, looks like they highlighted these tags with a roller of some sort. Really cool car Charley.

How are you ever going to drain that original virgin oil and change the oil filter? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

You may be able to get most of it out through the dipstick hole using a section of copper tubing which will fit through the dip stick hole... I would use the dipstick hole trick first then refill with oil, circulate fresh oil by pulling dist and priming (which will put it through the filter) then pull it out through the dip stick again... that should pretty well flush it.

I don't see any need to change the oil at this point. I spoke to Norman some more today. He is 69 years old and still lives in the house his Dad built in 1939. The car that gave the Z28 the door ding was a 66 4 door Chevelle that he bought for his Dad at Brigance. The girl that dinged it was Doris Yozul, not sure on the spelling.

Charley,

Great score. Congrats! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif In order to get a complete handle on the history of your sweet Z, https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/scholar.gif I would recommend gettng a statement from Doris Y. as to what was going thru her head when she dinged the car. Might provide some interesting insight. (BTW, Doris is a HERO!!!!!!!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif)
