Re: Restoration of burnish brown RS COPO
I agree - I'm going to show this car in stock configuration (with YHs) at Fall Hershey. Then put the Torque Thrusts on for display in my garage.

Re: Restoration of burnish brown RS COPO
Nice Bruce. Looks like its getting along famously with its other stable mates. Love the Ewing Sports Dept decal. I have an 06B customer ordered Chevelle from Ewing that may have been at the dealership with your beauty.
I went back to the beginning of this thread to see that your's is an 05E car, so there is a chance they were at the Ewing together. |
Re: Restoration of burnish brown RS COPO
Looks great. I'm sure you are proud of the way it turned out. One of my favorite cars on this site (Sam's black/red 69 SS396 ain't bad either!)

It has beem a a treat to follow the re birth of another Ewing Chevy car. By chance have you sent any of the finished car shots to Bob Schafer yet ? I know her would love to see her done. Hope to see your car sometime, and meet you too.... |
Re: Restoration of burnish brown RS COPO
Thanks for the kind words. Actually, I do have two sets of 8x10 photos going out to Bob Shaffer and Don Valdiserri (original owner). Don is not feeling the greatest these days, so hope these pics will cheer him up. You guys are always welcome to visit when in the Lancaster area. I'm only 1 hour from Carlisle and 45 minutes from hershey.

My burnish brown copo will be in the judging field at Hershey on Saturday - stop by if any SYC members are there.

Re: Restoration of burnish brown RS COPO
Good luck!

Re: Restoration of burnish brown RS COPO
I checked it out on Saturday at Hershey Very Beautiful car!!!! Loved the color in the sunlight! No was around the car when I checked it out. Doesn't it make you mad all that paved parking lot at Hershey park and they park some of the most expensive cars in the world in that uneven dusty dirty field. Not to mention the #@$% treatment plant down below.

Re: Restoration of burnish brown RS COPO
Thanks for your comment - sorry that I missed you. I was back and forth between the Challenger and the copo all day. Both cars got invited to Meadowbrook next July - great day.

Mike - I did send Bob a picture. I also sent several to Donn V (the original owner) - great car people and a big help with writing the story of the car!

It was great to finally see your B Brown COPO @ MCACN. Your PM box is full, need to send you a message. Mike |
Re: Restoration of burnish brown RS COPO
Good to see you also Mike - PM box cleaned out.
|
Re: Restoration of burnish brown RS COPO
Congratulations on the restoration! Beautifully executed. I saw this car at MCACN, and in a room full of unique and rare Camaros, this was one of my favorites.
|
Re: Restoration of burnish brown RS COPO
Thanks!
|
Re: Restoration of burnish brown RS COPO
Now this sucks...I didn't realize that was your COPO at MCACN. Another reason Cumby is doing SYC name tag stickers next year.

Re: Restoration of burnish brown RS COPO
Very nice to meet you last week Bruce. I wish I had followed this thread years ago. The BB really looks good on your COPO and I love the Liquid tire chain.

Re: Restoration of burnish brown RS COPO
Good to see you too Jed. Nice to have some young(er) car guys involved in the hobby!
|
Re: Restoration of burnish brown RS COPO
You did a great job on the car Bruce. I'm glad that I finally got to see it at the SLS. That burnished brown is motivating.
