That makes sense with the back of the oil pan being bare - hard to paint that part when the bellhousing assy is attached!

Jeff,

Try using the (i think it's called) the macro setting on your camera, it usually is represented by a symbole of a flower on your camera control. It should allow you to get all the goodies up close!!

Sorry but I am real confused with this post. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif Are you guys saying that Gm supplied this engine in the crate as shown or it was a new short or long block that came in the crate, then the accessories where added and it was returned to the crate unused??I was a GM Mechanic in the 70's and know how these came from GM in fact actually installed two of these exact motors in customers cars after I dressed it with the missing components from their blown engines.

This motor came just as you see it in the crate & just as the crate gives the part # 3965748 & then say's Engine Assembly. When the motor was taken out of the crate the whole bottom support system & mounting area built into the crate is the perfect cut-out for the motor w/ bellhousing.I bought this from a gentleman who worked for G.M & has had this for 35 years.
