Finally had a good day to switch cars in garages, so I dusted it off and really checked it over. Overall, very happy, considering the paint is a little over 30 years old. Still have a couple little places that could use some polishing and glazing. 100% better than it was.

Here are some more. I used to think that flourescents showed "everything", but some people say sunlight does. Well, maybe it's a combination. I did learn one thing though....it isn't just the black cars that show everything. Once you have a car that is very smooth, the light will show the same light swirl marks. It's like you just can't get rid of them. And on top of that, there's always dust in the air, and the best you can do will be dusty within 2 minutes! It just depends on how close you look and how the light is.
There are still some very little spots that could use a touch of polish and glaze. OF course, there's no wax on it yet. Like I said, for something that got painted in '76, '77, '78 (not sure yet) and with clear at the time when there was no such thing as "basecoat-clearcoat", I'm pretty happy and feel lucky it's still so nice.

I still have some trim and emblems to put back on that I removed to make things easier for Ronnie. I'm feeling the deadline. It has to be done for the trip to Indy in July. And there's a LOT more to do, since it was sitting since '90.

Looking great! Well worth the scramble to get her home.
I don't know what it looked like before, but it sure came out looking FINE! Lets see an overall shot.
Good luck with your deadline!

Glenn,
These are about the most "overall" shots I took. I was trying to capture more close detail to show how it turned out. Far away stuff just doesn't show that. I doubt these look any better than the before shots I've already posted, but here are a couple as far as I have.

PS: There's still some wax build-up around some things that has been there since '90 at least. He used Blue Coral; terrible stuff to remove. Don't worry about the hood alignment; it has to come off again anyway.
