Wouldn't it be fun to see some kind of real world, believable (maybe even verifiable and duplicatable <--could be a word) test of all these products??

I use Meguiar's NTX Car wash And Meguiars Professional
Final Inspection # 34 I love this stuff Final Inspection is the best stuff I have ever used. Does a great job on a black car. The only thing is you can not buy final inspection at any stores It is a professional grade and has to be orderd from Meguiars I use it on evey thing it is great on glass

Dito to all that, I buy Final Inspection by the gallon, I get it at my local paint store. I only use #34 on my black car in between polish. Great for quick clean up outside, and not to be confused with Quick Detailer which is a retail spray wax.

Duragloss makes an excellent car wash soap that leaves a very nice shine on the paint after washing. I use it on my truck and wife's car, daily drivers....

Try D-155 "Last Touch" by Meguiar's. It has more "active shine enhancers" or some magical stuff that makes it work even better than Final Inspection. Very similar...just slightly more pricey, but worth it.

Re: Carwash Products...

Ok I read the posts and changed my wax.I had a hell of a time finding the Light colored bottle Meguiars but finally found some liquid. It goes on very nice and comes off like a dream compared to what I have been using.Real nice shine however it seems to have left behind smudges when I look down the side with the light just right and when I touch the paint it feels greasy and leaves marks. Now I could not find the special cloth you guys use to remove it so I just used my normal new white cotton terry towels. It was also only 48 degress outside when I used it so am wondering if the cold temp had a impact because it seemed like it took a very long time to dry.Let me know what you think. Thanks Joe

It all comes down to how clean you get your car in the first place.

I buy a concentrated liquid carnuba wax, mix it with water at about 10 to 1 in a spray bottle, and it works great on my black car. Saves me a lot of $$, since an once of wax can do the whole car. Wax is like any other liquid in that even when diluted, it still leaves a layer of wax on the surface of the car. It's the wax that shines the car, not the thickness of the layer, like when the wax is applied undiluted. This is why Meguiars came out with the spray detailer. The water acts like a wash, and the wax adds the shine.
I went 3 years between a complete wash, since all I ever needed to do was to remove surface dust. If I got caught in the rain, I would just spray the car with water, and then apply the spray wax. JMO, but I think that cars can be overwaxed, which to me is an un-necessary expense.
Of course, since I drive my car, I am not going for a show car finish. Shiny looks just the same when going down the road. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/burnout.gif
