yes, Bruce I'd say it's a match. Car discussed here;
https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/show...5/fpart/1/vc/1
and on the camaro site months ago when "found". I believe the price then was almost reasonable!!
bids now up to $90,000.00 for a rolling hunk of fiberglass.
And we thought those plastic cars wouldn't catch on !! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/haha.gif

What's with the allogation? He says he came up with the docs. So what if he used his position in law enforcement to get them(if its true). I would if I was in that position.

Jude... What is the point on grilling him on just who he is ? If he is law enforcement and managed to document the car lets just consider another one saved. Even if he is not supposed to I would rather he did and I would rather others would also. If he gets raked over the coals it will only deter others in law enforcement from ever helping others.

Charlie, I dissagree. Law enforcement personnell salaries are paid by the taxpayer. They take an oath to protect and serve & with that comes higher ethics & accountability. The tools they use to enforce laws are also taxpayer funded & therefore should not be used for any type of personal gain. Before I purchase a musclecar I usually drive to the local police station to see if the vin has been reported stolen & they'll give me that much, but no more info. Why should a paid public servant be allowed to ID a car that's 3 states away, track it to a Long Island dealership, buy it & flip it for a profit? I'm all about finding cool cars & have discussed this with guys that have NICB access. They respond that they can't take a commission or profit in any way as it could joepardize their job.

Re: 1969 Baldwin Motion Phase III Corvette on E-bay

But have you asked them to do it for you as a favor? It seems like that would be hypocritical. What if they ran the NICB report on their own time? I appreciate the job law enforcement officers do for the community. Access to the NICB report seems like a nice perk for a car guy if he can find time to use it outside of his job. Make some wine out of those sour grapes.
