------Original post stated that the car had "AC"!!! I looked at the pics but believe it or not missed that the car did not actually have "AC". Therefore my pricing is revised downward. Car has a high side of around $60,000 without the "AC". Bet you thought I was crazy, huh Tim...........Bill S [/ QUOTE ] A 25k hit for A/C? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif Wow! *runs out to the garage and starts putting A/C on all his POS's* |
Re: 1967 S/B 4spd Corvette
I know someone who bought a very low mile original 327/300 last year for money close to that one. It has a ton of nice paper, and is a rare color option that has never been touched since coming out of the original owners collection. I know what it was bought for, and a rare cars net worth is whatever someone is willing to pay.
Nice car you have there. |
Re: 1967 S/B 4spd Corvette
-----The Corvette collector world is a strange place as you probably know. As nice as this 67 is, its a 300hp base engine. For the big check a 300hp generally needs AC to carry it upward. A 350hp or any of the optional engine packages can usually exist in the higher climate on thier own merits. Then the AC, if present, just adds the frosting!

Re: 1967 S/B 4spd Corvette
That beautiful blue with blue/white interior 1965 Corvette roadster with 21,000 miles and a 365 horse motor sold at Bloomington for about 160K to 170K last summer and it was an amazing car with good options. That is getting into uncharted waters, even on a nice car like that. It was certainly one of the best original Corvettes I've ever seen. I believe it bit to 170K with a no sale a few weeks ago at Mecum. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/blush.gif

A few year back at the judging convention in TX there was a stunning blue/blue '66 L72 convertible that many believe is one of, if not the best unrestored L72 in the country. Its been for sale for months now at $375,000. It is going to take a very serious buyer who understands the glory of an unrestored car to bring it home. I let my '66 350hp unrestored, original owner car go for mid $60k's and I'm kicking myself for letting it go. But again, it took a serious buyer to understand the nature of the beast. I personally love unrestored cars but many, many guys perfer the show-shine of a restored car. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif |
Re: 1967 S/B 4spd Corvette
Yes, I know the car and owner well. I had the honor of judging the interior of that L72 at that Regional event. I hammered the owner with a whopping deduct of about three points, if I remember. That car was in the Special Collction last June.
