Re: engine and vin stamping

Shouldn't the VIN derivative on the block read
19NXXXXXX
(1) representing Chevrolet
(9) Year ie 1969
Then the vin?
Also has anyone ever seen an engine block casting date and assembly date that are 1 day apart? Could that be done?
Cast, broached, machined and assembled in one day? I don't know... Just asking the question.
The Warranty folder looks a little too white.
I convert and sell that type of paperboard and at that time there were not as many optical brighteners, the whole bleaching process at that time was different than what is widely used today. The pulping process at that time was acidic (which causes the paper to yellow and degrade) and now it is alkaline (much more stable). They used Chlorine Dioxide now it is elemental Chlorine free (ECF), hell I have rolls of paper that have been in my warehouse for a year or two and are not that white. Even when you cut down into the roll they are off colored.
For the price the car and the paperwork should be bulletproof.
For about $100 I can get the paper tested...hmmm

10-4. I just sold a Challenger T/A and there was an SS on the transport. The guy said that the SS came from a guy that had a Camaro like yours, and it was for sale.

Yes, the VIN derivative on the block should read 19Nxxxxxx, but this isn't the first I have seen messed up.

As for the one day spread, I don't know. I did have a DZ block cast on Oct 3 and assembled Oct 5, so I know two days is at least possible, even if not the norm.

The red Camaro for sale came from the dealership that I worked and raced for. You'll notice it was ordered for stock,we always had a bunch of H.P. in stock to sell.
