Re: LS6 convertible $$$ DIG DEEP $$$
Rick, I know BJ has no reserve on all their cars. Does he have it going off with a reservre or not at RS?
|
Re: LS6 convertible $$$ DIG DEEP $$$
There will be a reserve on this at RS auction.

Re: LS6 convertible $$$ DIG DEEP $$$
I commend John for his ethics in this situation. Very refreshing in today's "money" world https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif
That car should do very well at RS, good luck to him. |
Re: LS6 convertible $$$ DIG DEEP $$$
Rick - any thoughts on the vin stamped in the heater box area? It came up in another post here that the metal around where the vin is stamped is quite distorted, as if it was hit with a hammer. The stamped numbers also look as if they were done with the blow of a hammer, whereas JohnZ and Keith T have stated that they would have been "rolled" in with a special machine.
The auction listing emphasized that many LS6 cars are rebodies, and this one is not. I'm skeptical on this one. Here's a link to the thread where it was brought up: https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/show...0/fpart/1/vc/1 and here's an image of the cowl vin that I lifted from the auction: http://www.shapeconsulting.com/cars/cowlvin.jpg |
Re: LS6 convertible $$$ DIG DEEP $$$
I was erroneous to state this LS-6 Convertible will have a reserve.
John wants to sell the Chevelle,so it will enter the RS auction without one. Also I can assure you that this is NOT a Rebody of anykind, and that the Body VIN# stampings in those pix are authentic. The angle & lighting do not do it justice as if you were to see it in person. John has complete photos of the Chevelle prior and during restoration in bare steal. John acquired this car from Don Hughey in S.C.,and it was restored by Gary & Mark in GreenBay,for those who asked. John has been very upfront with his information, and will continue to do so for anyone who is interested in owning this Chevelle. If anyone wants more detailed or thorough information or Buildsheet data, they can PM or email me, & I will forward you Johns contact information. |
Re: LS6 convertible $$$ DIG DEEP $$$
Rick, thanks for clearing that up. I was one of the people being suspicious about the appearance of the wavy sheet metal on that firewall, especially by the stampings, but if you say it's legit that's good enough for me. I hope that the sale at R-S goes well for him - it's a beautiful car. Fortunately, I will be there to see it in person https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/cool.gif

Re: LS6 convertible $$$ DIG DEEP $$$
I'm still curious about that firewall. Was it hit and then wrecked ? It looks like it was wrinkled and then fixed. Do all firewalls on Chevelles look like that ? Any pics of other firewalls ?

Re: LS6 convertible $$$ DIG DEEP $$$
Maby just a very bad day at the stamping plant. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/cool.gif

Re: LS6 convertible $$$ DIG DEEP $$$
That stamp just doesn't look right but I'm not a knowledgable Chevelle person so I wouldn't know. But that "1" looks too small, like it was a different size stamp. But at least it's consistant on both stampings.
