Re: Just saw this in Old Cars Weekly
-------While I feel your pain (deeply) take a minute and think about the part of your post having to do with flipping. If you think about it, no one would buy this amount of stuff without thinking of rolling a bunch of the stuff over, even all of it. Theres too much money involved, plain and simple. To a whole bunch of people this is retirement type money here. Its not pretty, but thats the guts of it. I think you are being a gentleman and going about things the right way. Go to see the collection and go from there. Thanks for your candid report of the true story here as if you hadnt there would have been a whole bunch more rumors about this floating around.......Bill S

Fred,
Here's another Wisconsin Yenko to track down. Not sure if its been found. This is from 1970 https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6.../WiscYenko.jpg Mike |
Re: Just saw this in Old Cars Weekly
thanks for the story behind the story...people do strange things when money is involved. I guess if your Larry, life is good. I can only see one way to make things right in this case...Larry should offer to sell you the 69 Yenko and offer the rest of the lot to the deepest pockets. It probably wont happen but stranger things have happened.

Re: Just saw this in Old Cars Weekly
If Larry had 1mil in liquid cash to buy the lot, he might want to sell to Yenko to Fred, but I doubt it.
My GUESS is that if he took a short term loan to cover the purchase, he will want to flip the entire load as quickly as possible to avoid the interest charges, and maximize his profits. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...thumbsdown.gif JMHO, as we live in a capitalistic country. Fred, I feel your pain, as I believe that you are a true car guy, and a stand up guy as well. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif |
Re: Just saw this in Old Cars Weekly
Fred..been there on both sides had stuff sold out from under me..and also happened to call at the right time and have bought stuff..you played it the best you could with the sister, the timing was just off when it came time to talk money was all...
I look at this stuff a little different, I think it will be great to get it out in circulation again!!! the parts are only worth what the market will bare..and with that much stuff and the word spreading there may be hope of some cars and motors/trannies getting together again..I hope who ever buys it will sell it off and not stick it in there shop forever...now that would suck knowing all that stuff is just sitting....again. |

Re: Just saw this in Old Cars Weekly
Don't know Larry, but heard from a reliable source that he paid cash for it so he's probably not in a big hurry to sell. In regards to my flipping comment, I won't say too much cause I don't want to have anyone take what I type the wrong way, but I will say this...I'm sure Larry knew I wanted the Yenko based on conversations I had with Don's sister, but he had to have everything , he wasn't happy with everything minus the Yenko...which takes us to where we are now...it being bought for the sole reason of making money off it. I will also say this, I have met good people (such as Colin) who make a living off of selling classic cars and I think they provide a healthy service to the musclecar community by being able to connect people with cars they are looking for, however the manner in which I lost the car I am disgruntled about.
Frank - I haven't gotten any info on whether there is a Yenko Deuce or not, but when I do I will let everyone know. My apologies if I offended anyone... |
