Scammed this from the LS2.com site, but those of you who think cars should be able to make the turn at the end of the 1/4 under power will appreciate this...

C6 ZO6 ran a 7:40 at the N-Ring! (Nurburgring)
For comparison, here are some of the times other cars have run.

Supposed to be an upcoming article outlining the details, but not bad for a car that was reported to be *stock* and wearing street shoes...it put the smack down on a lot of hi-buck Supercars...

Re: Anybody thinking about buying a new ZO6 Corvette?

Good for you, Jeff. I have a Z51 C6 coupe and a convertible and can only imagine what 100 more HP and a much lighter total weight will mean for performance. In track like conditions, I've had the convertible C6 north of 180 MPH in 5th and it seemed to just kept crouching. As I recall, there was a Ferarri in the rear view mirror that morning too. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif

Polished wheels rock https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/burnout.gif and the new body style will grow on you within the first hour of delivery. I'd ask Joe G to pick mine up for me at Paddock Chev in Kenmore, NY, but I've heard too much about his youthful street racing days in his Motion Chevelle https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif

I took a test drive on Saturday with a customer in a brand new C6 Corvette. That thing moved! I can't imagine another 100 HP! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif

Excellent!!! Anything sub 8:00 minutes is smoking. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif

Jan Magnussen has won the 24 Hours of Le Mans at least twice so he's a bit more of a hot shoe than most of us. The Mercedes Benz McLaren SLR that ran the same time as the ZO6 is about $500k+ (Klaus Ludwig is no slouch either, having won a ton of endurance races). The Porsche Carrera GT that ran 7:28 is $500k (proves that Rally drivers are the best - Walter Rohrl is the Audi multi-world champion):

FYI if you are wondering what a Pagoni Zonda (7:44) is:

I can't even fathom how much fun that would be. My brother Gary...who has the Marina blue 1967 RS/SS 396 that was a Members Ride feature also has the 405HP version of the Z06 in Electron Blue...I've driven it twice...it's like two cars in one...a docile street car that gets relatively good MPG and performance...and then a balls to the wall race car when you want it to be.

Here's a few pictures of my brothers 2002 Z06
