Re: Anyone remember this car?
[ QUOTE ]
Hey Supercar, --------Are you sure that "tach" isnt a fuel pressure guage? The line of the bottom almost looks like Aeroquip and that is a favorite place to hang a FPG. I had one there on "Red Alert"..........Bill S [/ QUOTE ] Bill that's definitely a Stewart Warner 970 series pedistal mount tach. It's the same tach Yenko installed on the center guage cluster, above the steering column on the early '69 Yenko cars that weren't equipped with a factory in-dash tach. In this case, the factory tach was off and noticed on the dyno, so it got the SW per customer request. I'm assuming it was placed on the cowl for visibilty and that was probably a customer request too. Can you shed any light on this Jon, did you or Yenko decide where to put it? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif |

The wires may have been wrapped in that chrome plastic wrap that was so so common back then. |

Re: Anyone remember this car?
Here are some original pics I got
from Jon. Hey Jon, glad you chimed in. I also thought the car in the drag shot looked like a Hemi Dart. I asked Jon but he hasn't responded. Doesn't matter I tell everyone its a Hemi Dart. Sully |
Re: Anyone remember this car?
Wheel wells and hood say Hemi Dart

Re: Anyone remember this car?
Thats the foot of the tach pedestal youre seeing, not any sort of fuel lines or chrome wrapped wires. Its turned at a 90 degree angle, perpendicular to the tach. The wires come directly out the bottom of the pedestal on a SW tach, and would likely be routed under the cowl panel from what i can see in the pic. -JB
