Re: COPO Camaro
Begin Disclaimer: This is an OPINION on this car, not an expert judgement. I am a computer nerd and in no way qualified to make any judgements about authenticty one way or the other on this car. I went to look at this car for my own benefit and for no other reason and was not compensated by anyone to do so. If you are interested in this car, call the owner and set up a meeting to determine weather or not it is the right car for you DO NOT USE MY OPINION IN ANY WAY SHAPE, FORM or ACT to make a decision on this car.
<<<<END Disclaimer>>>> I did. It is a very well restored 69 camaro. Probably the best I have ever seen. The owner (Gary) is a very nice guy and seemed honest when asked difficult questions about the car. However, not being ed jr, I cannot, nor can I confirm weather or not this is or was an actual CoPo car. The owner readily admits that the block was decked and the vin restamped back after it was sleeved. The trim tag was removed and replaced during the execellant restoration as well. The rear is either a BV or BW code rear. All date codes that I looked at (which was not too many) seem to be in close proximity to the production date on the trim tag. Rich |

Re: COPO Camaro
Below pic is TRIM TAG......which seller says was removed and replaced as a result of restoration....any "EXPERT" opinions on how much water this will hold......
Also if ALL 69 COPO's received BE Heavy Duty 4:10 axle's , how can this cars BV standard duty 4:10 diff be explained??? Chuck S http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...2CajunCOPO.jpg |
Re: COPO Camaro
There is a difference between 'removed and reinstalled' and 'removed and replaced'. This one is the latter, IMO.

Re: COPO Camaro
Did you by chance, check the DATE of the rearend?
...Does it fall in line with the Date the car was built? ... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif |
Re: COPO Camaro
There are companys that provide "replacement" trim tags. I'm sure most people on this board know that, but some may not.

Re: COPO Camaro
Maybe I am wrong but those numbers just look to crisp. Also the fold in the top and bottom of the tag are very straight. Originals appear more rounded. Look at an original. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Re: COPO Camaro
I somehow don't see a brand new, shiny trim tag being a good sign.

Re: COPO Camaro
Has anyone seen the actual tool to install that type of rivet ? It must be a strange looking piece.
