Attached is the picture of the order form from the Hooper book. Color is indicated as "Special paint blue with white". No codes.

So maybe the one pictured in the auction is the second page?

[/ QUOTE ]

After looking further yes the one in the auction appears to be the 2nd page. I would have flaunted the documentation.

Re: Interesting

I would assume that any real serious buyers would not rely on reading the docs from the auction to decide wheather to purchase the car. I know if I was going to spend that type of cake I would be on a plane to see it in person.

teamcamaro has light blue as code 80 and a very similiar one under commercial truck for 1969 as code 504, both look like this cars' color, samples of the paint codes are provided at bottom of team camaros paint code page.. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/burnout.gif

A local friend of mine bought a parts car out of Colorado. It is a -- paint code car painted that blue with white stripes like a Z and blue standard gut. A 6 banger that was called a Denver Hugger. The color is "different"..BKH

The color on this Z-28 is called "Carolina Blue". We processed quite a few special orders in 1969-70 for cars to be painted this color.

I don't have Hooper's book, but does it show on the paperwork the owner trying to order the NC8 chambered exhaust and JL8 4 wheel disc brakes? I'm surprised the car isn't an RS with all the other options that were added. It looks like someone went down the option list and checked every box they could get. That's pretty cool. Too bad it didn't get the JL8.

I agree with Charlie, why? I don't know maybe for some reason I like the guy. Smile Charlie it was great seeing you at Carlisle.

Just to add a little bit to the stripes thing here is a picture of a Z/28 we just sold and it had original paint. The car had been off the road since 1975 and was found in a barn in PA. We believe the stripes are original to the car.

Re: Interesting

Jeff- Really hard to see because the picture is so small. But I think it might say "chambered" on the first line of the order form which is pictured in the auction.

Rick- Can you post more pictures of this car??

Re: Interesting

The picture from Hoopers book shows the 4.10 gears being ordered but only the 3.73 shows up on the documentation in the auction. So if somebody did try to order all those options it sure looks like they were too late for some of them and others got overlooked. Very interesting history to this car.

Re: Interesting

When i watch these cars on ebay going for bg dollors, i gotta ask myself "why would somebody pay that kind of money sight unseen and not even talk to the guy", not only that but i would'nt put any money in anybodys account that i don't have some kind of rapor with. These days you never know what or who this guy represents. I've noticed some cars on e-bay that would command a much better price but just can't reach that mark on a small info auction such as e-bay but yet the guy leaves no contact info for anybody that may want to persue the car through another venue. I guess anybody that has a serious car would not normally go to e-bay. It seems to me that if your selling your car on e-bay it seems to be questionable. Anybody thats has cars such as the ones on this board have no problem finding buyers anyways.......................my 2 cents
