Re: Barrett-Jackson
Is there a web site with updated results? Their site doesn't show any activity.

Re: Barrett-Jackson
No Jeff,
I checked too but the barrett site is not updating. I will watch speedvision today and tonight and post the results here of the vehicles I think we have interest in. There are also a couple of members at the auction with laptops so by sunday night we should have a good idea of results. chris |
Re: Barrett-Jackson
Just got back, talked to a lot of great people from this site, sorry to have missed you Denis. The ZL1 sold for $114k. The blue '69 sold for $74500.(Charley said it would bring $75). The Russo Steele Auction was very well done. Not the high prices of Barrett. How about that $101k '56 T Bird. Talk about stepping on your ego. It was fun watching the interest in the '67 Yenko!! That guy was really nervous. Charley's friend Dave (ZL1, '69 Yenko, Hemi Cuda etc.) bought it. And yes I did buy a beauiful black on black '67 SS396 Chevelle convert. Charley thinks it is funny since it is a bench seat auto. Ha!Ha!

Re: Barrett-Jackson
So what's gotta go now, Jim? I won't give you any grief about auction car fever. The more you buy, the more cool stuff I have to sell. I'm hoping the black L79 Nova is coming over the bridge to find a new home....
As for other Barrett musclecar action, I watched (on Speedvision this year) a '71 Hemi Charger Superbee, well maintained but unrestored go for $90K, a red '68 GT500KR Convert Shelby go for $104K (! just a grand shy of the all time recorded record for these cars), and the Trapanier-built '57 Ford "Intruder" wagon did $115K. The $101K '56 Tbird is still the ultimate head shaker. I'd hate to write the check for that one after I'd sobered up...... |
Re: Barrett-Jackson
Was the LS-6 Convertible the highest seller amongst the muscle cars? Also, did not see a ZL-1 on the B-J website, only a clone. Which # ZL-1 sold?

Re: Barrett-Jackson
The ZL1 was at Russo Steele Auction, selling last night. It was a green auto. Seemed very nice but Charley has more info. Not sure which number it was. The '67 L88 Vette bid to $430k but did not sell. Muscle was strong at both auctions, tri 5's are moving up, but the Vette market seemed soft. Shelby anything is also bringing top $'s. Big block stuff really went well. Tom, better think about updating all those appraisals!!! LaDonna said the L79 is going nowhere. The guy that tried to buy it from Spokane was at rhe aution and I had to hold her back (she did not like him trying to talk me out of her car)!!

Re: Barrett-Jackson
There was a feature article in Auto Restorer Magazine a while ago regarding a guy who made a hardtop Monte Carlo to a convertible. I donĂt know if the car at BJ was the same one or not. It was pretty good article.
