Then challenge yourself to make it look as “correct” as possible. A Ford collector I know (Mustangs and Fairlanes use same type of godawful factory power assist) has been doing this for the last couple of years. His cars drive awesome, don’t leak, and 95% of the people looking under the hood don’t notice anything amiss, and these are concours stock detailed under there.

I was just looking at this kit for my 70 LT-1. No PS on the LT-1 in 70, as the ram interferes with the oil pan; so putting factory PS on it is not an option unless I want to swap out the oil pan. Looks like a sweet deal at under $700 for everything (except the belt).
