Re: Orange/Orange Dale Chevrolet 1969 427 4SPD Camaro
Thanks for the info Mark, I'll look for other stamps on it next time I crawl under the car. Kandy still has the skirt but one in the original houndstooth would be even better! Still has a bit of orange overspray behind the exhaust bracket and all over the floors.
iluv69s, not sure about the gear ratio in it yet but its pretty steep, 55 MPH is around 3000 RPM. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...69_exhaust.jpg |

Here's the picture of the car Sue's brother Pete gave me that was used for Sue's head stone. I've been a car guy my entire life but was absolutely floored when I saw it at the cemetery in Jefferson, WI. I asked Pete for the family's permission to use this photo before the MCACN show and MCR article, he said she would have been honored for us car guys to see how much she loved her Camaro!

Loved that story. A shame Ms. Hamann passed away so young.

Yes, it's a shame she passed so young, damn pancreatic cancer
I can’t help but thinking that Sue and my Dad(Dick Slocum) have been pulling some strings from up above to make all this happen since Dad and I were so infatuated with COPO Camaro's and LS6 Chevelle’s back in the 80’s when I was a young teenager and Kandy and Sue have so many things in common as well. It’s been almost 25 years since Dad passed away but there is rarely a day that goes by that I don’t think about him in one way or another. He was without a doubt the greatest man I’ve ever known and had a huge influence on my life. I miss you and love you Dad. After reading Tim's post about his 68 Harry Mann L88 Camaro last night I'm to see if Auto Ancestry can help me find the mystery owner(s). They said it was a long shot but it's better than no shot at all. I'll let you all know if anything turns up and post any updates we have once we get it inspected by JM and get the 427/M21 back in it |
Re: Orange/Orange Dale Chevrolet 1969 427 4SPD Camaro
Got these pics in the mail yesterday from the original owner, Jim Schwalbach! The first picture is of Jim in uniform in front of his house with the Camaro in the background, the second picture is Jim and his brother Tom Schwalbach with the trophy he won the only time he raced the car at Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove, WI. Priceless stuff, thank you Jim!!!
