My high school parking lot circa May 1980. Amity Senior High, Woodbridge CT. I drove the Superbird when my 69 Z11 Pace car wasn't running (remember they were cheap used cars back then).
The rich kids had the brand new Z-28s. The poor kids had the ten year old musclecars. The school janitor drove the black and gold 71 RS/Z-28 parked on the hill in the third photo. Black and gold were our school colors. I remember sadly watching that car rust away to nothing over the years. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...lot_1980_2.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...lot_1980_1.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...april1980a.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...april1980d.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...april1980e.jpg And the old gang of hooligans. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics..._gang_1980.jpg |

Awesome pics. Man, I missed those cheaper prices by just a couple/few years (grad in 84 when the first muscle car craze was starting to ramp up prices around Pgh).

Re: Vintage pics of muscle cars-post yours up here!!
I lost the few pics that I had of my 1970 307 Malibu years ago. It was gold with black stripes and Keystone wheels. If anyone has any vintage pics (1990 or older) of a gold with black stripe Chevelle, I would love to see them.

It was in Warren, Michigan, just a few miles from the GM Tech Center, so a lot of the kids drove new Camaros and Trans Am's. This is the best I can come up with...a driveway shot of one my classmates: http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/g...psa522459f.jpg I was one of the "poor kids" ...I drove a '66 Biscayne that I bought with my babysitting money. |

Circa 1981 when I moved out to Denver after high school to go to diesel tech school. 1970 440+6 Cuda, four speed. That's my brother's 69 327 three speed Camaro, behind it.

Yes it was. Same friend also had a blue on blue AAR (and still has it today) and his dad had a 1969 hemi Roadrunner (which he would "borrow" occasionally when his dad left for work earlier than he left for school...) |
