Re: Tank Sticker Archaeology

The order was received on 11/03 1968. On 69s, they do not give a date for expected date of production just the year hence the 8/00/00. The job #s were used in order up to 500 units then it reset. The last three # will match the vin on a car for 0 to 500 and be 500 off from 500 to 999, your being 101 and 601 vin. You may have the job # on the floor in the area of where the pedals are. You have a great car and I love the side exhaust options, congrats!

That is one cool car with 4.11's and side pipes. How many small blocks had sidepipes in '69? Not many.

I bought a similar car/color from the original owner and it was within 300 cars of yours. It was in my moms garage in Chicago for the past 21 years and was moved out in January when she sold her home.

What's unusual is that the 350 horse motor was the only engine that was a manditory four speed in 1969. Every other engine (435, L88, ZL1) could be had with an automatic transmission.

I really love your car, the tank sticker is great and very important to document the sidepipe option.

Enjoy. I hope to be there when it's awarded the Benchmark award at Bloomington.

What an awesome car and that original tank sticker is a huge bonus.

The L46 4.11 cars are overlooked because there were so many 427 choices offered in 69. Most assumed if it didn't have the BB hood it was a low hp base car, because there were so many 427's in 69 I didn't even know about L46's until I happened upon mine and did some research suprise!
Daytona Yellow numbers L46 4.11 Coupe with a cam and header, my buddy had a 70 LT1 roadster 40k mile car, bone stock except jetting the carb, curved the dist and bundle of snakes side pipes, it was a toss up near every time we raced (OFTEN).

I always said a L46 Roadster would be a great car, IMHO the 69 is the best looking C3 and the L46 is a precurser to the 70 LT1, heck it even shares the tune up/emissions sticker with the 69 Z28.
