Ford's response to the Plymouth Road Runner: 1969 Cobra. Two different body styles with the sportsroof being less expensive: $3181 vs $3206. Standard bench seat, 4 speed and 3.25 rear. and 10" drum brakes. The 428 (big car) engine was standard with the Cobra Jet Ram Air an extra $133.44. F70x14 WSW belted tires were standard with RWL and additional $13 (mandatory with the CJ engine option). If you wanted an auto, add another $37. A/C was not available with the 428/428 CJ and a 4 speed.

The Cobra was a one year only muscle car and sales were not that good: Cobra 2-door hardtop - 3,786, Cobra 2-door sportsroof - 11,099. 1969 was the pinnacle for the amount of muscle car models available. The Cobra got lost in the pack.

This car may be the most original Z-11 in existence. It was found about 98% complete and restored back in 1983 (the first Z-11 to be restored)

Tony Schumacher Returns To NHRA Top Fuel Drag Racing – Running Back to Back Indy Races With Global Electronic Technology Backing

This is great news and certainly lends an awesome feel to the already interesting spectacle that will be the NHRA’s return to action with two unique races at Indy. The events, which will be broadcast live on FOX Broadcast television, will feature professional category racing and limited fans in the stands of the historic track.
