Tim, that is the car ordered by the St. Louis plant manager. As plant manager, he wanted a white stinger instead of black and chrome valve covers.

The man knew what he was doing, as the white stinger is perfect with the white top and complements the blue as well. As for chrome valve covers, I've never understood why they weren't all chrome ?? Painted covers on their flagship model...

Me either, Mitch. The tri-power 427 was one of the prettiest engines ever built, why put orange valve covers on it.

Exactly, imagine if Pontiac elected to have blue valve covers.

I agree Chris! First off, I love a '60s era red interior. At the risk of drawing the ire of C2 guys, I do not like side pipes. I prefer the sound of under car exhaust and for me side pipes spoil the clean simple lines of a C2. Plus, I love the roof line of a removable hardtop. :beers: - Bill W

----A little late to this discussion. I have 2 sidepipe big blocks left. I did have a 65 fuelie white coupe with 4.11s and OEM off-road under car pipes (N11). The sound out of those pipes at any decent RPM was off the charts, It wasn't the noise but a combo of the solid lifters, cam and gear. Had several 435s that were off-road under car exhaust and they were similarly cool, yet not the same as that mouse motored coupe.....Bill S
