If I remember the story right - Johnny Bench's dad was also a catcher, during the Ty Cobb era.

In a little bit of trash talk during one at bat the senior Bench asked the famous (and vicious) Detroit Tiger: "...you know what we use cobs for where I come from, right?".

My grandfather's home in rural SE Missouri still had the (unused) outhouse out back when we visited there during my growing up years.

In fact, my parents did not have electricity until they moved to Michigan in 1955.

Since I'm posting things I don't know about: I have no idea where this picture was taken, either.

The bricks and turntable are similar to the Design Dome patio, but that would be surrounded by a wall, and would not have an open view to the rear.

There's no turntable like that at either Milford, or in Pontiac.

So maybe a non GM design facility somewhere?

Edit: now that I look at it, there is a somewhat distinct line at the transition from the bricks to the "dirt", like maybe they used a Design dome setting and faked/airbrushed in the background.

What could possibly go wrong?

never seen this. was it a one off or did they make a few? if it was a one off is it still around?
