Interstate 95 remains closed in both directions in Northeast Philadelphia after a truck fire caused part of the highway to collapse.

It wasn't the fastest car at Le Mans. It didn't win because it raced in a special class all by itself. 24 hours . . . 2400 miles. All that went wrong with the car was the transmission failed and had to be replaced - took 90 minutes.

But it did have the distinction of being the loudest car at Le Mans and every time it went past the grandstands, the crowd went nuts.

The last time NASCAR raced at Le Mans was way back in June of 1976. Two teams were brought over. Neither did well. The Charger blew an engine early and the Torino quit during the 11th hour of racing.

They are talking about it taking months to rebuild. I-95 is the east coast's main interstate. Now traffic will have to leave I-95 and be rerouted to the next exit to be able to get back on I-95. HUGE headache.

Imagine when it goes all electric. "every time it went past the grandstands, the crowd went to sleep"

..they just don't make transmissions like they used to.

The Reason Gas Stations Charge 9/10 of a Cent

Quote:

Blame the government and the Great Depression. The Revenue Tax Act of 1932 allowed for a federal tax of $0.01 to be placed on gas prices to help offset the national debt. Because gas was priced in pennies in those days, a fraction of a cent was considered reasonable—rounding up would have meant tacking on a massive surcharge. If filling up your tank cost 10 cents, and you had to pay another full cent instead of only a fraction, well, you’d be hopping mad about it.

I have good news and bad news. The good news: Team Corvette won it's class at Le Mans for the 9th consecutive year in a row. The bad news: Team Corvette is hanging it up - will no longer race.
