Denny Ford (if it's the same guy) is still around. He runs a '62 Biscayne 409 car now.

That car was raced by Mousie Brown. He's also still around and would probably know the other name on it.

Verne_Frantz 01-26-2018 08:22 PM

I just spoke to Denny Ford. That Chevelle was his. He completed the car in '74 when he worked at Yenko. The car was originally a 300hp car that he stuffed with a 427. It wasn't until '78 that he painted it in that scheme.

He's currently running his '62 Biscayne in legal B/S and it goes 10.86. More than competitive!

I spoke with Mr Brown and he doesn’t recall who Mr Lowe sold it to . It was the dealerships car not his .

Don’t know if anyone noticed, but the red Nova in post 1297-page 30 is Larry Lombardo. Yea, the same Larry Lombardo who won the World Championship winner/Jenkins driver.

My 68 Nova that I own was from Eppy Chevrolet and it was a l-79 4-speed 12 bolt car I talked to original owner a month ago when he came to my house and seen the car and it was the first time he had seen it since 1983.The first picture is from Dragway 42 when he class raced the car .The second picture was from when I bought the car in October of 1995 the blue paint was still the original paint as the car only has 16,000 mies on the body and the last picture is what the car looks like today.

Rich, The original owner found me through Facebook his friend seen that I was looking for pictures of the nova from when I bought the car as it had been raced at Quaker city and his friend called and said I think your old nova was still around so the original owner found me through the Renegade Racing series ,he emailed me and we have talked a few time and he came and seen the car last month when he was up from North Carolina visiting his daughter in Avon. He told me some great stories about the car and how it evolved into a race car and I also found the second owner on Facebook and all the stories jived so that was cool.I`m trying get some videos and photos from the second owner he told me the car ran 10.30`s with a 331 tunnel ram and 4 speed with small tires.

My '68 L72 Biscayne at Minnesota Dragways in 1970 driven by Larry Myers. M22 was swapped out for TH400, thus running in C/MPA. Any other photos anyone might have of this car are sure appreciated.

I wish I would have been lucky enough to walk through the pits( I would have been 10) during the mid-70's to see some of the rides and crazy paint jobs!! I guess some of that paint work is a lost art today. I wonder how many of the cars are still racing today?? Cool stuff for sure!!

I always wanted one of these. My biggest dream was to own one of these and going to school with it when I was a kid  When my father passed away 10 years ago he left me an apartment in Athens, an old warehouse and a Toyota FJ Cruiser. Then I decided to sell property in Athens, the warehouse and the car and buy a 1967 Camaro LS2. Still feeling strange when I drop my kids off at school with my Camaro :)

That is George supinskis Camaro for sure, but that is Freddy krawich (also superstock racer and trans builder and owner of Trans torque his 69 Camaro said special K on the door) as far as I know George supinski raced small blocks.

These were the two Camaros that I raced in the 80's and 90's. The yellow car was a real Yenko that I raced as a SS/EA and the White Car is the former Vince Alessi Select Performance SS/DA car. The picture of the White car is from the Dutch Classic at Maple Grove and the picture of the yellow car is from the Spring Nationals at Columbus.

Very cool! Do you still own these cars or know of their whereabouts?:dunno:

iroc343 08-15-2023 11:22 AM

Unfortunately I do not. Believe it or not, the yellow Yenko has been completely restored by the original owner. I sold the white car to a fellow in Iowa, turns out it is the original 427/425 COPO car that was purchased new by Vince Tarantola and became the Vitar transmission/torque converter test bed. The car was restored, as a race car, to it's original Hugger orange paint and Vitar logo.
