That's catchy. In fact it was used (with a small change) in a Hollywood movie called HELLFIGHTERS starring John Wayne based on parts of the life of the famous oil well fire fighter Red Adair.

Seeing this photo brought back 2 memories. First, I was living in Rosedale, Queens which is situated at the end of JFK's longest runway which of course the Concorde used. There was a daily flight that left around 8:15AM. So I would stand outside and it flew right over the house I was renting. So close, I could see the Rolls-Royce emblems on the engines! All the windows on the block would rattle.

The second memory was scuba diving on a WWII wreck off the coast of Long Island. We were about 50 miles away from the coast and the wreck was right under the flight path of the Concorde. It would stop it's supersonic flight literally a few miles from where the boat was anchored and the shock wave would catch us. Man was that LOUD!

It's only fair don't you think? EV's use all the same roads as Fuel burners do. Somebody has to pay to repair and maintain them. Bill

This Saturday, June 10th, we will see if the Garage 56 NASCAR Camaro can make history at the 24 Hours At Le Mans. Only available on Motor Trend TV. This is the 100th anniversary of the famous endurance race.

NASCAR Garage 56 Wins Le Mans Pit Stop Challenge With a Floor Jack

Quote:

In the run-up to the 24 Hours of Le Mans, teams compete in a pit-stop challenge to see who can change four tires quickest. NASCAR's Garage 56 effort—which won hearts and minds with a stunning showing in Sunday practice—just beat all the GTE teams with a time of 10.364 seconds. And unlike any of the GTE teams, the Hendrick Motorsports crew had to use a floor jack.

Modern sports-racing cars have built-in pneumatic jacks, so teams don't have to raise the car up manually. NASCAR stock cars don't have built-in jacks; they need someone to get a floor jack in just the right spot and lift the car up at the exact right moment. The coordination between jack operators and tire changers is something top NASCAR teams, like Hendrick, practice intensely. so it's no wonder that the Garage 56 crew put on such an impressive display in the pits at Le Mans.
