The story goes that Wide World Of Sports was going to broadcast the first in color NASCAR race shown on TV. Chrysler wanted their Daytona Charger to stand out on people's color TVs. They were told that Red would be a good choice for that. Unfortunately Chrysler's Reds weren't that brilliant. So they looked at the other car manufacturers Reds and saw the winner; Ford's Signal Flare Red. |
