I like the addition of the Roman numeral "II" after the name.

My brother-in-law had an aircraft he referred to as "Sheetah II". There was no "Sheetah I"; he just liked the sound of it.

Or - my favorite name for a boat: "Unsinkable II".

2021 Ford Courier compact pickup truck rendering front three quarter MT

The rumors are true. Ford is adding a new compact pickup truck to the lineup. But instead of looking like the clearly car-based Ford Courier coupe utility sold in other markets, the unibody pickup will adopt a more rugged look to satisfy American tastes.

I heard they are no longer working with Rivian? Bummer as that is a local company with a promising platform.

Did you know there is a relationship between these two cars? They are both painted the same color; Signal Flare Red. The story goes that Wide World Of Sports was going to broadcast the first in color NASCAR race shown on TV. Chrysler wanted their Daytona Charger to stand out on people's color TVs. They were told that Red would be a good choice for that. Unfortunately Chrysler's Reds weren't that brilliant. So they looked at the other car manufacturers Reds and saw the winner; Ford's Signal Flare Red.

NASCAR Is Going Back to Racing on May 17

https://i.postimg.cc/CLzzGj2q/screenshot-7912.png

Quote:

According to NASCAR, the 400-mile event at Darlington will be the first time any of its cars have been on track since mid-March. It confirmed that no spectators will be allowed into any of its May events. The series wants the first three race locations to be drivable from team headquarters to minimize personnel using plane travel and hotels.

And while the events themselves will return, NASCAR has eliminated all practice and qualifying sessions for every event in May, save for the Coca-Cola 600 qualifying. The reason? To limit the amount of pre-race activity at the tracks, and minimize how much person-to-person contact is necessary. During a teleconference, a NASCAR representative said the series was not ready to announce how it plans to determine qualifying for the other six events.

Sorry - I believe this is what you were referring to:

Rivian Won't Make Lincoln Electric SUV

Quote:

But one casualty of the need to cut costs and prioritize is the news that Ford is no longer partnering with Rivian to make an electric SUV for Lincoln. The Lincoln EV will continue development but it will use Ford's own electric vehicle architecture instead of the Rivian skateboard platform.

Ford had invested more than half a million dollars in Rivian and was full of praise for the electric carmaker's engineering, and also planned to contract the manufacturing of the Lincoln crossover to Rivian to be built at its plant in Normal, Illinois. Lincoln says it continues to partner with Rivian and will work on an alternative vehicle based on Rivian's skateboard platform sometime in the future.

Ford does not have a timeframe for making the electric Lincoln crossover itself. It posts that, "We continue to review and adjust our business and product plans—as all prudent businesses do. As we moved through the development cycle, we determined that it would be better to pivot from the Rivian skateboard platform and focus our development efforts on Lincoln's own fully electric vehicle."

The Chevrolet Camaro SS U-2 Spy Plane Chase Car

The U2 Spy Plane is THE hardest plane to land due to only having 2 inline landing wheel assemblies. The driver of the Camaro is talking directly to the pilot once he reaches 50 feet from the runway chasing the plane at wide open throttle, one hand on the wheel and the other holding the mike while guiding him the last 10 feet until touchdown.

I recall Jay Leno doing a spot on this about 2-4 years ago. They used a Charger Police pursuit version at the time.
