Interesting they green-lighted it in '64. It probably would've been an Impala. I was always under the impression that it was based on a Caprice since it physically looks like a Caprice 4-door. For an Impala they would've had to fill in all the body side molding holes. They also added the Caprice tail lights and rear moldings.
