Sorry Ryan. That was my uber-lame tongue in cheek attempt at humor.
I saw the outcome on a previous post. What I MEANT to say, was did you race him while he was ON the Schwinn? I knew the outcome of the REAL races from your previous post. Sometimes keyboards make it harder for us to make jokes. I didn't say it was a great joke (or even good for that matter). My Mom gave me her warped sense of humor. It's a curse sometimes. |

I’m taking the Cutlass to PSMCDR this coming weekend.
Hope to see lots of old friends and make some new ones!!! Stop by and say hi if you see a green Cutlass. I always pit with Gary, Thomas, Ron, Animal, the usual suspects :-) PSMCDR is a very special event and always fun for the whole family. Amy and I are riding in style in my 2000 GMC 2500, hauling my 2014 24’ enclosed car hauler…… I have to say it makes me very happy to haul my car with my own truck and trailer !!!! Safe travels and safe racing to all. PS: several of the MSU Project W31 “students” are coming Friday to check on me :-) if you want to meet some cool guys with great stories come and say hi!!! |
Good luck. Safe travels.

PSMCDR 2025 Border Crossing
So PSMCDR 2025 was a total bust for Team Weaver Racing!!
Amy and I left the house with great anticipation of another year of friends, racing, potluck food, and more racing!!! My truck, trailer, and Cutlass all travelled well, no issues. We got to the border and I had everything prepared as always, ownership, proof of insurance, passports, all in hand. The guard asked normal questions. Where are you going? What are you going to do there? I said Pure Stock Muscle Car Drag Race in Stanton Michigan. He asked if I have anything to declare? I said no. Then he said I have a car to declare. He said as i was racing the car that is commercial use. I explained I own the truck, trailer, and Cutlass all are licenced, plated, insured, and street vehicles. He said I needed a TIB (temporary import bond) or a Carnet. I explained we are just going to a car event for the weekend, no commercial business. I think he said I could sell the car in the US. He said it has been the law for many years but not enforced, and now enforced. He sent us to secondary, we backed into a space obviously for semi trucks not pick up trucks, and then through a door named drivers (obviously semi drivers) then we waited and I talked to the secondary guard same story. He said I should get a broker to get a TIB and that a Carnet is not available quickly, then he got me paperwork (I thought he was going to give me a form to fill in….) paperwork to go back to Canada. We followed the instructions and crossed back into Canada, spent an hour on the phone and internet researching and finding out that neither option applies to us, neither is cost effective, neither is fast, and neither was possible. We then drove home and unpacked. Now on a personal note: #€£¥*+=<#% Darn it all 😞 Ryan W31 |

On a lighter note, my build thread has over 4 million views :-)
If I had built my car 10 years later I would be a YouTuber :-) Ryan W31 |
