Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
On the convertible it has fresh inspection and new raised white letter tires. The second car has no debris underneath of it, the paint is nice and clean, no streaks running down the side. In our neighborhood all cars parked on the street must be tagged, inspected and insured. I think your pictures do not depict rotting muscle cars. If you would like to come to our local neighborhood car show, it is 9/27/08 on Easton Road in Roslyn. You are in my neighborhood.

Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
I post cars here because I, and I believe others enjoy the sight of something that would be a thrill to take home
and try to save or in the case of some really far gone vehicles to lament the passing of the same. Some of the cars I have posted are not that far gone or rotted, but posted for the enjoyment of seeing old muscle that has not been restored and is still hanging around. I don't feel because the thread is titled "Rotting Muscle Cars" I need to be pigeon holed into only cars that are falling apart and ruined. I posted the shot of the '55 Packard because it's an unusual car that I thought was pretty cool to see sitting on the street, and where else would I put it. If I offended the cars in your neighborhood that was not my intent - but lighten up it's all in fun! I've posted pictures of several of my own cars on this thread. If I can I will definitely stop by to see the cars of your area on the 27th - thanks for the invite. - - Here's one of mine - it hasn't moved in 3 years and has the dirt and dust on it to prove it! - - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...7435/1a210.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...7435/1a220.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...7435/1a223.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...7435/1a224.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...7435/1a225.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...7435/1a226.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...7435/1a228.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...7435/1a230.jpg - |

Yeah, I guess the thread has become a catch-all for picture posting. Just doesn't feel right to be seen on a thread titled Rotting Muscle Cars.
Here's another great link to a variety of "cool cars". Don't try and look at them all in one night. http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothrea...141&page=1 Enjoy |

This and the street scenes thread are my 2 favorites. The 66 Biscayne is finished, and that was another favorite.
Don't stop, and I'll add to it from time to time. |

I have always wanted to post in here. I love it!

Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
I couldn't jump in earlier but my friend Plowman told me my car was on this site. I'm not thrilled by having my car labeled a "rotting muscle car". It does have some rust, but I have fixed some rust and I drive the car on weekends. The debris is from a heavy storm during the week. I park in the same place and it has kind of piled up in that spot.
I read the post by the guy that said that people are not washing their cars so they can get posted in this thread. ARE YOU GUYS NUTS???? You WANT to have your car labeled Rotting Muscle Car???? |
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
I believe it was originally called "Rotting Musclecars" because that was the title put in when the first posting was made and the car was an actual rotting musclecar.
You can't change the original title after it has been input but you can change the header. In the time since then, the post has evolved into any and all interesting musclecar finds. Sorry of the title offends anyone but I rather enjoy seeing what is still out there regardless of condition. I have put some of my old stuff up there too, just for comic relief. |

And some of my past project cars, in various stages of progress.
My 67 Malibu, getting a 396. My 72 Vega panel, getting a 350, turbo 350. and my really rusty 68 442 in the background. When I look back now, I realise my wife was very patient with me. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1.../Projects1.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1.../Projects2.jpg |

I am liking the idea of showing you a rusty car I used to drive. Wish I still had it, rust and all !! I was pondering the idea a while back of starting a thread called "Scene on the Street" for all those rides that do not gather moss. That way we won't offend. No implications of rust, rot, mold or mildew. Just looking at your car cause it's there. A kindler gentler thread for those easily offended. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif 107312 views and only two complaints. That is a satisfaction record that the Maytag repairman would like. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif |
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS except if it's mine
i searched long and hard but was able to find a pic of my dads GTO Judge. here it is getting pulled out of a horse pasture in 2004 where it had grazed for 23 years.

One of my fellow car club members told me that some of my cars made it onto the rotting Musclecars board. Although the Packard isn't a muscle car, coming in at a mere 225hp when new, it does have a rot hole on the other side. The Mustang that you barely caught in the pic, has rust on both sides, and rot in the floor.
Both of these cars are used everyday. Today I drove the Mustang from where I live to Jersey City and back (about 2 hours each way). I just wanted to throw a note up telling everyone that these two cars, as well as the 60 Rambler, are works in progress and they each see thousands of dollars thrown into them every year. The Mustang just finished it's first ever engine rebuild, and the Packard got new seats and headliner, as well as brakes all around. You can also see the ass end of my wife's 90 LTD Country Squire that just finished a repaint, with a nifty 1931 Caddy hood ornament guiding the way. Now that her car is just about done, I can refocus on mine again. Thanks for the pics posted. I am guessing that "Scene on the Street" would likely be less offensive. Although I can't deny my cars are rotting, because two of them clearly have issues, I am going as fast as my wallet will allow. Unlike so many of the cars shown (like the photo directly below mine), I just can't empty my daughters college fund into my rides. On the upside, these cars get seen everyday and usually get thumbs up by those not brave enough to keep the older sheet metal alive. Attached is a shot of my Rustang |

I truly have never met in person any member of this sight that would look down at any car. We all seem to naturally see the best in every car we look at, even if they need a little or a lot...........Bill S

The most rotted second gen i've ever seen. Real shame too looks just like the z in 79 brochure right down to the wheels. Definately not a Car Craft project gone horribly wrong. Just a little to close to the Atlantic.

Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
I picked this one up the other day. It is a 66 Rambler Ambassador. It has a factory 327, buckets, console, power steering, power windows, power locks, tilt, and probably more. It was not running when I bought it. The guy I bought it from had it parked for a few years without starting it. Once I got it home I put a battery in it, changed the oil, and turned the key. It turned over, but no starting, I sprayed some starting fluid in the carb, nothing. I pulled the cap and quickly sanded the points. It fired right up and ran great. I'm not sure why I bought it. I guess it is just a unique old car. Now I have to decide what t do with it. I don't contribute to this thread enough and I thought I'd share.
