Thanks everyone

Naturally I've been busier than a 1-legged man in a butt-kicking contest since yesterday, so I haven't had a chance to do anything to the car yet...BUT...I did get the new rear springs ordered today, so *hopefully* I'll have them on before the weekend.

Weather/time/*life* permitting, I hope to have the car out before the week's out, so I'll try to get some better pics up...and maybe even a little video too.

Re: Chevelle updates

Got the new rear coil springs in today. They lowered the back of the car about 1 1/2", and the stance is just about perfect now (will probably settle another 1/2").

Next I have to figure out how I'm going to address the ubiquitous "A body lean". The DS sits about 1/2"-5/8" lower than the PS does, and yes, I've verified the springs are correctly located. Looks like a coil spring spacer will find its way in the LF spring shortly.

And now for a rather surreal side-note;

It looks like I procrastinated a bit too long in deciding on what car cover to buy. Monday afternoon I started calling around trying to find a suitable car cover--"How hard can it be?" I asked myself.

Turns out it's a lot harder than I anticipated. I couldn't find squat! I spent a good 1/2 hour on the horn with Summit, but they couldn't tell me for sure which model of cover I needed, and whatever I would've decided on they would've had to order anyways.

After a quick peruse here and over on the TC forums I found myself on the JEGS website (y'know...I can't even type that name w/o hearing that voice from the commercials and their hold time ads--"JEEEEEGS lol).

Anyhow...I managed to find a CoverCraft Block-it evolution cover that will suit my needs.

Only one problem...

Y'all ain't gonn'a believe this, but it's the Gospel truth...

I was outside installing a Painless high beam headlight relay kit on my Suburban, when Rachel proceeded to inform me that there was BIRD CRAP on my car!!!...A BIRD HAD FLOWN IN MY GARAGE AND CRAPPED ON MY DAMNED CAR WHILE IT WAS SITTING INSIDE!!!

WHO ELSE does stuff like that happen to?!?!?

Thank GOD it only hit the back glass! I was one nano-iota away from blowing out an O-ring in epic fashion.

ANYHOW...I called JEEEGS today and ordered the cover, it'll be here tomorrow...hopefully before another damned bird finds its way into my garage and relieves itself on the car again.

More later.

I also know what it's like to have a bird (a really BIG bird) bomb my car while driving with the T-Tops off!

Those damned things have AMAZING accuracy, don't they?!?...not to mention TIMING!

...stupid car sits in the garage for 5 years, another year in the body shop, not ONCE does it get bird bombed...it's back home THREE DAYS and some little feathered ba$tard drops its payload on it...got my workbench too!

That said, I am thankful I've never been bombed while driving...but there was one time while riding a friends motorcycle home for him I wound up ingesting some sort of bug that had to be the size of a Pterodactyl!

Yeah, said "friend" got a good belly laugh outt'a that one.

Either is a life experience I could easily have done without.
