So I got another part that will help me in my 2021 goal of reducing my ET to 13.999.
Marty Hodgson (local Olds guy) gave me an Olds O type housing so I can use the perches for my rare 1968 31 spline rear. Marty is wrapping up a body off resto on a 1969 F85 W31, M21, 433 Sable, gold interior, gold stripes sold new at Belmont!!! Ryan W31 |
Nice :)

Started cutting the perches off today.
The welds are tough to get to, but free is worth a lot of tough!!! Ryan W31 PS: Albert G put a clutch in the mail.... I can’t wait!!! |

These perches are difficult to cut off without damaging them, but I did it.
Now I need to dress them up, sandblast, and primer. Now I know why I never hear about GM A-Body rear end perches getting ripped off at the drag strip. (Solid!!!) One step closer to 13.999 Ryan W31 |

Weather has finally warmed up enough to work in the garage!!!
I pulled the driveshaft and transmission. (Heavy F@&$er!!) I took the pad off my floor jack so I can make a trans jack adapter. (The trans looks so light as the case is aluminum.... but there are a lot of heavy guts in there) I am committed now :-) Ryan W31 |
To celebrate my car selling March 27 “327” 1969 I zipped to Ayr and dropped off my driveshaft for a check at the shop that built it.
I should have gone with a 3” instead of the monster 3.5” when the car bottoms out it touches the tunnel in several places. They will check for straightness and balance. (I swear a vibration started after I had 5 people in the car and hit a few woopdiedoo (bumps) and it bottomed out. (At the time I assumed only on the rubber bumpers of the rear end....) Still learning all the time!! Ryan W31 |
And where you going the speed limit?
