The first racing car to have racing stripes was the 1951 Cunningham C 2r. The stripes helped to identify the car on the course.

Well, at least it doesn't the spoilers, rear slats and Magnum 500 wheels that most 69 Mach 1s seem to have. It does though have the wrong tires. Those are for 1970 Fords. 68.5 and 69 used the Goodyear Polyglas RWL tires.
