i have to wonder if this is the car i saw in a field back in the 90s..in southern Illinois..a one owner car, that time got away from the guy and he never got to restore his first hot rod.....same colors...still had its orig motor..he had 390 embs on it...i am sure the guy passed...it was in his 70s then...i was working in a body shop and a potential buyer drug me out there to see it...wanting my opinion on if it was worthy of a resto..and of course i told him yes..he never had a grasp of what the car was...he wanted to half a$$ it and flip it, because prices of any muscle car was growing overnight...he didnt buy it...but a car like that couldnt be a secret for long...

I don't believe so. That looks to be the same Comet that was in a collection here in WI along with ZL1 #4. 1,700 miles, radio antenna still in the trunk. Dana Mecum bought it and a few other Mustangs, including the 902 mile Boss 429.

It looks to be a 1969 Road Runner with A14 Spring Special. So the RWL tires would be correct. But it has the wrong Road Wheels. Those are from 1968. Should have trim rings.

One of only 13 built for Tangier Shrine Corvette Patrol. The Tangier Shrine Patrol was formed in March 1957 in Nebraska. It was composed of Omaha, Nebraska lawyers, bankers and business men who felt that their demonstrations of precise driving would help the case of traffic safety.The group chose the Corvette to exhibit their driving skills. The group (11-15 members) purchased a new Corvette each year and GM would build all at the same time so they would be identical.In 1962, Bunky Knudsen told the group they could have any GM car color from any GM model available that year. The director chose the 1962 Cadillac color Royal Heather Amethyst and as it happened, white was not an option for the interior of a 1962 Corvette so the director went with red.

Putting the S code 390 in the 1967 Cougar then adding AC produced a lot of underhood heat. To combat this, Mercury added a fan shroud and a rubber strip to make a better seal to aid the shroud. They also added a heat shield on the battery on the two sides that faced the engine and extended it up over the battery to encase the positive terminal as seen in this photo.
