It takes 50 pounds of dye to turn the Chicago River green. The dye lasts five hours and is one of the most recognizable ways Americans celebrate St. Patrick's Day. The river was first dyed green in 1962.

The racing Boss 302's did not use Mustang front disc brakes which were single piston calipers and were not up to the rigors of racing. Instead, they used Lincoln 4 piston calipers and Lincoln ventilated rotors for better cooling. Ford Parts did offer a rear wheel disc brake kit but because it was never an option on the Boss 302, it couldn't be used in SCCA Trans Am racing.

On the street versions of the 1969 Charger Daytona and 1970 Superbird the two rear facing scoops on top of the front fenders served no purpose. But on the race cars they performed a very vital function - unknown to NASCAR - they exhausted air from under the car and air that went into the engine compartment - air that would reduce the speed of the car by having very large holes under the scoops. Chrysler told NASCAR they were for tire clearance which was an allowable body modification. The total package of the nose cone, rear wing and air exhausters resulted in a drag reduction of 19%. The 19% reduction: nose cone 12.5%, air exhausters 3% and the rear wing 3.5%
