Cool prototype filter - never realized MOPAR used the venerable 427 c.i. BBC (aka L-72)!:D

Re: "The Beater Bee" becomes "The Better Bee"
Thanks guy! I appreciate you all putting up with my crazy posts and such! The journey is almost over. I got some paint from the supply house and paint up the next prototypes. This more matches the factory color. Still needs a little tweaking....Or twerking, depending on how Miley Cyrus you wanna be! . I also added the texture to this next set. I just about have it perfected.
https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...221_160202.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...221_160239.jpg I'll let these set up overnight and apply the transfers tomorrow I have another batch of transfers being made which will make the instructions a little more correct on the spacing. So.....NJSteve......I need to summon your WonderTwin New Jersey Chrysler powers to forward me a name over there so I can get these licensed as an official Mopar Restoration Part . This will further continue my goal of spending a lot of money to get nothing in return, much like my manager of my 401k is doing Cheers |
Re: "The Beater Bee" becomes "The Better Bee"
Inspiring, what will you do at oil change time?
Better make a case Ryan |
Re: "The Beater Bee" becomes "The Better Bee"
----Dave,,, How will the transfer work over top of the texture? Got to think you may have some minor problems there......Bill S

Re: "The Beater Bee" becomes "The Better Bee"
Bill, I thought so too until I used the transfer. It's really only very light pressure, then it sticks! Very, very easy to do. The person that made the transfer told me specifically that it wouldn't be a problem. I guess we'll see tomorrow!
Ryan,. Well, that's the beauty of this filter. It's strictly just an assembly line oil filter. After that, a red/white/blue striped Mopar one took its place. So really, this is only correct for the first 3000 miles or maybe back then it was 500 for engine break in? I actually kept my original oil filter from the first oil change I did on my 2016 Challenger and that filter says "assembly line filter" or something like that, printed in it. More tomorrow! Cheers Dave |

Re: "The Beater Bee" becomes "The Better Bee"
That's all I needed to see, Darrell!!! So take two....and it's getting pretty darn close...
https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...20-filter3.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...21-filter4.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...22-filter5.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...23-filter6.jpg And installed...... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...24-filetr1.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...25-filter2.jpg Green is still a shad too dark, and the next batch I'm going to use a different media for the texture. This was a pretty aggressive media I used. It didn't want to even be applied without a fight! Until I make the next round (I made three out of this group) this will do. Man....I just spent like 2 weeks making a darn oil filter....what the heck is wrong with me? Cheers Dave |
