I collected “Original” unbuilt models years ago and several of Ed Roth customs.
The Box art and decals are way cool in these old vintage models.

What am I? I'm a 1970 Duster 340. But I have hood scoops from a 1970 Coronet R/T/Superbee and the hood decal from the 1971 Duster 340 but it's way too low on the hood because of the scoops. Yikes!

Yes - Sox and Martin raced for Mercury. But their contract was up. While negotiating a new one, Chrysler got wind that they would be available. A meeting was set up. When asked what issues they had with the Mercury contract it was made known that Mercury wouldn't give them each a car for the season. Only one to be split between them.

Chrysler said " We can easily fix that. You guys pick whatever car you want to drive from our Chrysler/Plymouth/ Dodge inventory." That sealed the deal and Sox & Martin moved over from Mercury to Chrysler. The rest is history.
