Since I installed it, the M22Z would not shift right.... I am new to this so I assumed it was me, or the shifter, or the set up, but on the way home from PSMCDR Des and I had a good trans discussion and it became clear.... I need to get this thing out and apart before the expensive new parts get broke.

If it shifts right I am confident my ET’s will improve. I had to be super careful to make sure it was in gear before letting the clutch out. (No trust)

Man it was nice seeing you there!!! You always take such an interest in my junk :-)

Some day I want to race you!!! I need to chop a few seconds to make it a fair fight :-)

I have made a couple attempts to install the repaired trans.... I am having a battle.

I can get it so the face of the trans is about an inch from the bell housing but can go further. I had Amy pushing the clutch many times to try to help it move into place.... I used longer bolts to help square it up (not cranking hard on them) but it doesn’t want to go.

I pulled it mostly back out and will drop it down and check the pilot bushing.... maybe I burred it up?

I think the issue is alignment but TBD.

I need to get the car in working order as I have coordinated a date and time for a photo shoot for an article in Bone Stock and Modified Muscle Cars.

My family are all home, the Stagers and the photographer are all lined up.... like herding cats!!!

I have a plastic alignment tool, wish I had a steel input shaft handy.

Ryan -- don't know if this is the issue, but I have had issues with the plastic alignment tools also. I have used the following to ease installation. Before tightening clutch cover, push the alignment tool slightly upward -- seems the weight of the clutch disc on the plastic tends to cause alignment issues. This has worked for me in the past ... good luck! ... Craig
