Well . . . that was short lived. And the Fed cut interest rates by half a point today. Still 2.5 hours left to today's secession. |

It might be easy to imagine shooting a movie as something of a luxury. But according to producer Frank Marshall, Raiders of the Lost Ark, the first Indiana Jones film, was shot in “Tunisia, in 130 degrees for six weeks and we had three days left. We were supposed to shoot this huge fight between the whip and the sword.” The previous nearly month and a half of filming seemed to have taken its toll on the film’s star, Harrison Ford. Rather than spend an additional three days shooting yet another physical fight scene, Ford simply pulled out his prop gun and pretended to shoot his adversary. As Marshall described it, “After lunch we did three shots…and it’s the biggest moment of the movie.” |

another thing I love about the picture new. I love to get under the skin of the car show judges now days who count off for items. how many points would be deducted for the trunk lid not lining up with the quarter panels and the terrible door to fender gap and the door to quarter gap at the bottom.

This is the very first 1970 Challenger T/A to roll off the production line. It has an auto trans and 3.91 rear. |

“In 1964, when Lee Iacocca said, ‘Shelby, I want you to make a sports car out of the Mustang,’ the first thing I said was, ‘Lee, you can’t make a race horse out of a mule,” Shelby recalled in an interview. “I don’t want to do it.” |

In 1969 the only 396 available for Chevrolet's Full Size cars was a 265 HP 2BBL. The 325 HP 4BBL was not an option. If you wanted more power you could choose the 1 year only 427/335 HP 4BBL engine which would be the next step up from the 396/265 HP. |

Wasn't this the VIN swap car that was just tags? The whole story blew up all over the Camaro websites when the guy who sold the tags realized that the car had been resurrected and started talking about it. IIRC Pratt was high bidder on the car and kept it anyway even though it was a rebody.

This is the first production line-built 1970 Chevrolet Camaro (VIN: 123870N500001). It was built as a “pilot” car at the Norwood, Ohio, assembly plant in November 1969 and then immediately shipped to Chevrolet Engineering in Warren, MIichigan, where Vince Piggins, head of Chevrolet Product Promotion (racing) and his engineering team began a series of specific modifications to submit for approval by the FIA as homologated production options for use in racing. The first and most important element was the 454/450 HP LS6 engine based on a GM/Chevrolet service block. Fitted with a lightweight underhood cold air plenum intake system, a tach-drive distributor working a Jones tachometer, transistorized ignition and a heavy duty L88-specification Harrison radiator, the LS6 was mated to a Muncie close ratio “Rock Crusher” 4-speed. The suspension and brakes were also heavily modified. Heavy duty front coil and multi-leaf rear springs were installed along with 1969 Camaro JL8 4-wheel disc brakes and the requisite emergency braking system, heavy duty front spindles, hubs, rotors and calipers. A tall three-piece rear spoiler, which would be made available to the public under COPO 9796, was the only visible exterior modification. https://www.mecum.com/lots/SC0513-15...vrolet-camaro/ |
