The actual displacement of Ford's Boss 429 was not 429 CI. It is 428 CI. This was the second time Ford "rounded up" the C.I for one of their racing engines. The other was the 427 which displaced 425 C.I..

If you wanted 60 series tires on your Challenger R/T or 'Cuda all you could get were E60s. The Hemi models came with F60s and you would see a tag that said "HEMI FENDER." Chrysler made the front fenders different to accomodate the wider F60s (wasn't necessary with the E60s).
So what about all the restored cars that use F60s with the standard front fenders?

4 changes were made to the 1967 Shelby GT Mustangs during their production:
1. Elimination of Scoop Lights
2. High Beam Grille Lights moved apart
3. RWL Tires changed from large letters to small
4. Exhaust Tips and Rear Valance - from single 3" to Mustang GT's Quad Tips

A GTX with a 383?
Pretty cool though - blow up your 3.91 axle and get a 4.10 Dana 60 replacement for no charge if you are within the warranty period. Normally, that would be an extra $150.00.

Carl Cameron, the Chief Designer of the 1970 Challenger had this to say about it's optional Stripe when the R/T model was ordered:
"I never did like the bumblebee thing that went across the back," recalled Cameron. "In fact, that was one of my most disappointing moments in styling. I had spent all these years and money going to Art Center to be a car designer, and some yo-yo outsiders were putting bumblebees on these cars."

The Side Stripes were standard on the Challenger R/T with the Bumble-bee Stripe a no charge option. The reason why Cameron didn't like the B-B Stripe was because it did nothing to enhance the unique belt line on the 1970 Challenger, something the Side Stripes did - they called attention to it. But Dodge Marketing had spent a lot of time and money on their Scat Pak ad campaign . . . "The cars with the Bumblee-bee stripe(s)" which they started in 1968 and wanted to carry over for 1970.

Just a note: this is a rare car that was treated to a high dollar restoration. But they goofed when they put the vinyl top on wrong. Part of the styling of the Challenger was to use a different method of applying it to the car to add to the styling as see in the photo below.

When the SE package was ordered for the 1970 Challenger, a vinyl roof with "formal roof styling" and a smaller backlight was included. The SE roof was unique, thanks to the seam pattern designed by Carl Cameron. "The location of the seams on a standard vinyl roof run from front to rear," Cameron explained. "The SE seams ran from the windshield back beside the rear window to the base of the vinyl roof. This made the top appear lower in profile because you read the seams. It also looked wider from the rear. I thought I'd start an industry trend with that one."

This styling cue was also used on any Challenger ordered with a vinyl roof from 1970 to 1973. 1974 saw the seams go back to the industry standard
