I had that style front marker light SS emblems on my '68 Chevelle, but of course mine were the SS 396 stickers in the marker light frame. You don't see too many of those these days.

The Chevelles did not have SS in that area, just the engine size 396. I've never seen a side marker with SS and the engine size. Is this one particular to the full size car SS ? Seems like an aftermarket emblem.

The early 68s had foil inserts just like he mentioned with SS/396. Later like you have noted were just 396 and casted. I dont know how long they ran the foil inserts in '68 but they would peel and fall off so it is not surprising to have been replaced with the later style.

Thanks Lee and Dustin, that's exactly what mine had. Was in surprisingly good shape considering the condition of the rest of the car.
